Default New Align swash driven head okay for 800 ?

http://shop.align.com.tw/product_inf...oducts_id=5297

Why is there suspiciously no mention of being suitable for the 800 ??
I'm getting irritated with this 800 pro, I don't like the head one bit and
now am I to understand for whatever reason they don't want you
to run that head on the 800 even though its the same as a 700 head.

I asked the same question on the 700 thread, regarding the new-old head design last week, jsbach. No responses there?

As you said, the 800 dfc head is the same as the 700, so one would think it would be a straight bolt on.

However, I guess we won't know unless someone tries one or an Align Rep could confirm.

Good luck with that - Thats why I did go out and buy two Goblins. Despite their clearly lagging behind qc to Align they are actively updating their users with information.

I was wondering the same thing. Ive ran headspeeds from 1400 to 2100 and it runs crisp and responsive. Is it the I heard it on the internet that it was bad scenario? Ive also heard about the crash results, but youre going to break something on that helo no matter what.

It develops so much play in the dampers outer diameter so quickly so the feathersing shaft is rocking back and forth so much. Swash has purposeful play in it - don't like that either.

I do NOT like dfc heads. I can hear so much turbulence and flutter under load, quick pitch changs, that I don't hear on non dfc heads. It doesn't make any sense to drive the swash and control pitch through the same link. I don't like it , never will.

I've never crashed it yet so I can't comment on that.

This Align "new" head is downgrade from DFC, like Goblin did.
I see NO need to put this retarded new head instead of Align DFC.
DFC head is brilliant design on various RPM's, simple in design.

might cost ya a little more but the KDE is a much better fit and look in my opinion.

the KDE head uses the same DFC main shaft that's on the heli and the the align FL head uses a different one.

and im sorry but your wrong about going from DFC to standard FBL head saying its a downgrade. the KDE head flys almost identical to the DFC head but having the added security of the standard design. at least thats the way i feel about it.

Have to make sure there is zero play in the head, it should not rock and your ball links shouldnt be worn. Other than stripping servos in crash i dont see why people hate the dfc. Much like everything in this hobby if its setup right it works, barring the occasional mishaps, that being said the new head looks cool and ill probably grab one to save money on servo gears. Lol

I have brand new oem dampers installed now , the bird barely had 50 flights on it and the amount of play it had developed in the rocking of the feathering shaft was frightening. It still rocks a bit which I believe is normal, but to me its excessive. I'm no stick smacker I assure you. I do some biiiiiiig loops that's about as crazy as I get. The rest of the time I'm just cruising around.

Align DFC swash has play from brand new, Align non dfc swash are tight. I think the dfc design has some deliberate play built into it to relieve the strain on the pitch links when the feathering shaft rocks a bit. Its just aweful okay. I understand it works perfectly fine, but so does a Toyota corolla, I want my (insert high end car here) !! or use whatever analogy suits you.

I had to replace the dampers on my Trekker last week after finding some vibration errors in my vbar log, while I was at it I changed all thrust bearings and the grip bearings, anyone guess how many flights I had on it......

Only 740, yeah that's right 740 flights since new and never crashed, first time I had to replace my dampers.

Ok I'm not a stick banger, I fly scale with low head speed so it's just circuits plus I do a lot of F3C style hovering. So that is the main reason my dampers have lasted so long.

My 800 Pro DFC has 638 flights on it and everything is still original even the dampers, never crashed.

I agree that if you are into heavy 3D then your dampers will wear out a lot quicker, I don't think that is a design fault, it's just the stress put on the system.

For me the DFC is perfect as it is.
