OP... Those are FINE, if the holes bother you then just fill them in with some epoxy, then use an Xacto knife to shave the excess epoxy and lightly wetsand with some 600 grit... or just don't do anything at all.

I've ranked up HUNDREDS of flights on blades that had nicks from me cutting the grass.

Only time I would be worried if the nicks were clear holes and the size of peas... but that has never happened.

Don't use CA. If there is a path it will wick it's way in and eat the foam core, that can't be good.

I'm sure they are fine for service but if you aren't 100% comfortable save em for chopping hay or blade scraping till they are trashed.

Those appears to be ok. I would just fill it in with expoxy and let it set.

I would fly those. They are just nicks in the clear cote, doesn't look like anything structural at all. I have had nicks in the roots on my 450 blades and filled with epoxy and kept flying. They were align blades, wouldn't ever do that on cheaper blades.

I've used epoxy on my 710's. Your fine. Fill'em, fly'em.

I've used epoxy that I thinned with alcohol this allowed the epoxy to get into the smaller pockets easier and still make a tight bond. Granted this wasn't on a main blade but worked great for the purpose, the epoxy didn't make a thick coat so I didn't have as much to sand off.

^All you have to do is lightly heat it with a heat gun, that will have the same effect (also gets all the bubbles out). That is what I do when I re-drill skis and have to fill the old holes or need to fix a de-laminated ski.

+1. Unless you see CF, it's just the paint coat that was busted up.

Over a summer of grass and soy cutting, I realized that the layer is fragile regardless of blades.

Fill it, make sure it matches the blade profile, and be done with it.

I learned my lesson about dry stuff when I went after some old soy and took a nice chunk out of the leading edge on a REALLY old(as in no brass inserts old) curtiss blade. That went into the CF lamination which meant game over for those. Shame too, I like those blades and it was fun showing people blades that were so old they had damn near turned yellow from sun aging.

Why did they move this thread? It was to notify all people that fly all sizes what might happen. If this isn't main Heli forum material than I don't know what is ?

Well looking back I was actually cutting heavy brush not grass. Lol and I'm many flights later and those blades are still going strong

The local Bass Pro Shop has epoxy in multiple colors, esp. black and white, to fill nicks in boat hulls. I works great to fix blades.
