Just ordered a 6HV kit with the Compass motor and Hobby Wing ESC yesterday.

Heard many good things about the Heli, it looks very well built from pictures.

There are 3 Atom 500's at my local field. They seem to be catching on.

In reference to the next Compass heli,I am VERY curious to see what they do next.A 450 is unnecessary at this point, the market is SUPER saturated and now with the rise of the clones..LOL..its even worse. So I'm interested in their next move.

Maybe a true 30 size(550mm),or a more traditional 90.I think as innovative as the Odin is,it scares a lot of people, and its size/look seems to put people off.

Who knows all we can do is wait

Personally I would like to see something in the sub 500 range. Anything else is too close to what I have already.

I think the next big competition will be in the 800-900 range. A 550 is too close to a 600 IMO, especially with the HV power system in the 6HV.

I agree, not to mention the Atom 5.5 makes that gap even smaller. With a 515mm and a 600mm bird, I have 0 interest in a 550mm bird.

I guess 800-900 is neat and a logical next, but it's going to be too expensive for me for sure. The 7HV is expensive as I will ever get in this hobby.

800-900 is just a bit too much. Added electric is only viable powersource to keep up with power demands.

We'll see threads on how Jon Doe is in the ICU due to an electric shock or worse.

Whack as it sounds, 15-20 hp would not adequately power a 1000mm blade machine for 3D. If we try to keep rotoro tips speeds about the same for similar flight performance, we'd get a relationship where power goes up with the square of increase in diameter. So, if a 700 takes about 8hp or so for how they ar flown, (and that isn't very high compared to the 10kw motors), then a 1000 would take somewhere in the realm of 23 hp or so. 15 hp would be lame and 20 would fly it. Crazy 3d would take about 25 hp to really start to be impressive with size.

I know but it sounds good on tv.... noone their pays any attention to facts anyways just get droned into by talking heads..... Still 15hp would not be too shabby.....

We'll see how the Logo XXtreme fares. It's designed for up to 800mm blades.

A Main has decided to stop being a Compass distributor, but Experience RC has sorta taken its place as an additional dealer.

I think the market is too small for a 8-900 sized heli. I would like to see a purpose built 450, maybe with open frames like the 7HV, but that comes ready to run on 6s with 350-380mm blades, no stretch required.

And I think the market is way too crowded in the 450 space.

Experience has all of the 6HV and 7HV parts in stock. They just haven't got them all on the site yet. Give them a call 989-488-7813.
