Default Gens Ace- prices just went up?

I had been hearing how good the quality and value was for the Gens Ace brand but usually out of stock in the popular sizes. So a few weeks ago I accidentally found some Gens Ace batteries that I could use on the Hobbypartz website. I bought several 4800 mAh 65C 6S and several 5300 mAh 45C 6S packs for about $105 each. I liked them so well that I bought several more of the 5300 mAh packs for the same price, $105 each. So today, since I use those packs on both a 550 and 700, I decided to get a couple more. I called customer service and ordered two more 5300s (which they have now) but surprise they are not $105 anymore!!!!! Now the same pack is $129. What happened? They are not the same value they used to be as far as I am concerned. Anybody have a similar experience?

If it started last December, what did 6S 5000-5300 packs cost before that increase? I thought that $105 for a high quality 5300 45C 6S pack was a great deal, and that was less than two weeks ago. A $25 increase per pack!!!! Yikes Now that same great pack is no deal at all. I won't pay that much for those packs... Will you?

It would appear GenAce, SkyLipo, and Glacier are all raising their prices.

I switched to Pulse Ultras now.. the new Green ones... probably not cheaper but they are made by Gens Ace (or the same factory anyway)

haiyin packs are lower priced and IMO better quality and power!
And you cant beat the customer support you get from Eric.

They are even cheaper at HobbyKing. Haiyin's non-Scorpion branded packs are the same as the Blue Turnigy packs (AFAIK Haiyin are the OEM for HK).

When I first started flying my 550 I bought 4 6s 5000 packs for it at $280.00 each. The gens ace pack are a huge bargain when you compare price.

However, those Hyperion packs are still going strong after 300+ flights.

You get what you pay for.

Clearly there needs to be more players in the battery game. Prices are high and supply sucks. Most of the time when I go to buy batteries everyone is out. It's a sore spot in our hobby for sure.

Haven't seen any Glacier prices go up, same with Sky Lipo. The majority of Sky Lipo's have been out of stock for months anyway. Gens Ace packs went up a bit a while back but those too have been out of stock in a lot of the common sizes for a while now.

What happened to the 12s Gens Ace 5000 mah 45c stick pack? Now all they have is the 60c stick pack. I'm trying to find more stick packs for my Goblin and these work perfect!

Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes not.... Thunder Power batteries for example are pretty good packs but not a good value. Gens Ace, with consistently good reviews, have to be considered a good brand, Until this last price increase I would say you got more than what you paid for with them. Now they are middle-of -the-road in terms of value I'd say.

I just bought a Glacier 3300mAh 30C for $63. I thought they were closer to $55 when I first looked at buying one.

I'll check my receipt on my 3000mAh 30C SkyLipo.

Bought 3 THOR 5000ma 35c batteries at RC Flightstore in BC for $115.98ea./free shipping in Canada.
Excellent looking batts, we'll have to see how long they last.
Came with EC5 connectors already soldered on & nice long balance tap wires.

Gens Ace packs (5000,5300ma) went up about $20-$25 per pack (here in Can.) & are still hard to find 'IN STOCK'.
