Default Walkera, Blade's largest competitor may have discontinued all helis

Walkera has delisted all helis from their website. Furthermore, not a heli was seen at their booth at Nuremberg. Therefore, it is possible that they have discontinued all their helis. My vendor thinks it is credible as sales in the sector have been declining for quite some time.

It seems that Walkera is now concentrating on multi-rotors that are priced above $1000. This is a risky strategy given that they will have to shake off their "toy manufacturer" reputation.

What this means is that Blade has now got a chance to expand greatly in China and areas of Asia where its distribution is weak. This is particularly given that there are a large number of Walkera users with Spektrum compatible transmitters around. However, there is now much less competition for Blade in the micro sector.

I will bet few in the market for a quad either know or care about Walkera's prior reputation.

I agree, though, that it could be a huge boost for Blade. If the many versions of Walkera 120 disappear, Blade may need to reintroduce a 130X V2.

They could call it something like the "180cfx".

The 180 may not look that much bigger but it flies much larger than the v120. The difference in power is huge. The v120 flies considerably smaller than a 130 for similar reasons. It's a 1 cell heli! I'll be keeping mine.
