Exclamation Servo horn setup with trex500 FBL head

Just FYI and for documentation.

The balls on the main-grips are probably spaced differently apart than the Gaui FBL heads. This throws off the servo limits that have to be used.
I had to limit my servo throw to about half to 2/3 of what it was capable of to stay within +/- 12degrees collective pitch.

After a lot of puzzling i present my fix for the stock plastic Gaui425. You can drill the servo horns any place along the offset line indicated in the manual p12. There is no binding at all if you do this.

I moved the drill-holes from 28mm apart to 18mm. I can still get my +/-12 degrees collective AND 12degrees cyclic and will still not bind. Servo travel for collective changes is much better now. More resolution and more torque than I had before.

cool. I could use this for the Gaui FBL head as well. I wasn't getting enough cyclic resolution for beastx with the stock servo arm setup.

Do you use the offset line for the aileron and pitch servo arms as well? The bell cranks have 2 sets of holes and you could mount the balls along the diameter, thus eliminating the need for offset line. At least that is what I think. I need to try it myself.

cheers,

Every servo horn got the same offset. Problem with using the alternative bell crank hole is that the elevator does not have it, so you need to mod the elevator some other way. It is important to keep everything the same to prevent dis-symmetry /interactions in the collective range..
