New 6S Lipo puzzled
I received my first 6S lipo today for my 500. It's a YKS 22.2 3300 MAH. I put a HXT-4MM on the esc figuring I would use it also for the battery. I use EC3s on my 450s so figured keep it different so never put the wrong battery on the wrong heli. I also already have a bunch on hand.
1. The pre soldered wires on this beast are actually bigger than the hole in the 4MM bullet. I was figuring with heating up the solder the actual wire wrap might be a tad narrower but I haven't gotten that far yet either. 2. To use the HXT-4 connector, yo upas the wire through the plastic housing first. The wires are so damn fat and the wire voting is so damn fat that I can't get the wire to pass through. I've reamed out 1 connector, no luck. I've trimmed the edges of the wire casing to make it a tad more tapered. Maybe try a little liquid soap to cut down on friction ? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree? My 1st 500 after 3 450s so this is a little new to me. Any ideas gang ? Paul

Not really a fan of those connectors. I used EC3s on my T500 for while until I switched everything over to APPs. Having one connector on everything really simplifies things. And no, I have never mistaken a 3s 2200 for 6s 3300 pack

I'll check lol
I'll look up the APP. I'm not married to the HXT. But it seems very secure to use. I know everyone has their preferences and despises. I can live with almost anything that's not a DEANS LOL. But my buddy loves them. Vanilla and chocolate. I'm sure I would never try and put this battery in my 450. But the fit already looks tight so I figure I'll wind up with 1 or 2 2650 MAH sizes. I'm also sure I can color code the connector or just know which battery goes where.
When I got into the hobby I ordered a bag of EC3s, HXTs and what looks like a 3 slot 3MM smaller HXT. I haven't tried the XT-60 yet myself. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong or if its just not a good choice. Stepping down to the EC3 wouldn't bother me at all but the hole on the back of the bullet is even small than the 4 mm ones for HXT. The wire is fatter than the hole!
