They are completely different motors. One is for a 6s and the other is for a 12s. Also you would have to switch to a HV ESC as well.

I have the CF model and just did a BIG REBUILD and update...
YES the 600MX fits the cf frame.
I up dated to the 112T slant gear and the DFC/PRO one-way bearing and hub.
I'm running a 12T pinion with my 600mx 510KV motor.
You will have to find out your main gear tooth count and what KV your 600mx is to find out if you can run that pinion.

A 510kv needs 12s.. I should be around 1950 to 2050 gov head speed give or take a little. This should give me some head room for the gov to work well.

Depends on your frame. The older style frame had to be modified to fit the bigger motor. The newer aftermarket frames for the CF are cut out to fit the bigger motors.

There are two versions of the BL600MX -
510kv (12S) and 1220kv (6S).

If the 1220KV motor is your choice, you are still looking at the size difference.

The two versions of the BL600MX are the same size, but the are quite a bit wider than the BL600XL.

Additionally, the BL600MX uses a 6mm spindle vs. 5mm for the XL.

BL600XL: Dimension:spindle 5x65x43.3mm (1650kv)
BL600MX: Dimension: spindle 6x45x59mm (1220kv)

I would start by measuring the distance from the inside frame-to-frame.
Then, measure the distance from you existing BL600XL to the servos.

I would suggest the frame-to-frame must be 60mm and the distance from the BL600XL can to the closest servo should be 8mm

Then you will need a new pinion to fit the 6mm spindle on the MX. And, you may have to use a 11T pinion to compensate for the slower RPM of the MX.
