I'll respectfully disagree.

Plastic does not have inteference issues. Using carbon fibre to mount recievers can cause brownouts and lockouts.

Where on earth did you get that idea?

Situating the active portion of an antenna near anything conductive can mask the signal, but similarly mounting an rx on a conductive surface helps shield it from electro-magnetic interference. Have you ever heard of Faraday's cage, electromagnetic shielding etc.? Plastic, being an insulator, does nothing to dissipate static, the source of such (Spektrum) brown outs.

This is why, for example, the Futaba CGY750 has a conductive coating.

The truth is quite the opposite of what you state.

Steve

I don't see any inherent electrical interference problems or advantages with either in this application. The only advantage I see with the Lexan mount over the CF mount is the overall stability it provides since the material is thicker. Use what you are happy with.

Stabilty? I used 1.5mm CF sheet which is more than stable enough and only 4.28g mass including fixings. I have varying thicknesses to hand up to 3.5mm which would win any stability challenge you care to name, but would be huge overkill!

Anyway we can all agree that the original Align item is pants!

LOL. The Lexan is 3mm. Thats enough to add lateral stability but still be a reasonable weight. I use 4.5mm for some parts but not this application. Like you say, that would be overkill. Its all good, if your happy with it, you are there. And yes, we can agree on the pants.

Thanks Rick! Perfect product and a perfect fit. The only thing I would like now is two slots for a velcro to hold the BeastX, but thats easy to drill out I guess! Really easy to see if all servo's are well connected also! :-)

Its easy to mill when I am making the part, but probably difficult after the fact. I could mill you a new one with slots if you want. Very nice wiring job!

Thanks! Its really hard to see any of the wires on the heli. Pretty easy to work on this bird compared to my 6hv. Dont think its necessary to buy a new one just for the slots;-) But thanks for asking!

I just ordered the Gyro/Receiver mount, if you could mill the slots in mine, I wouldn't mind waiting a few extra days.

If not, its cool! I can always use tape

Darn, I just read this tonight. I already shipped yours, sorry.

Actually, it's probably better since I am committed to something every night till Monday anyhow. I think you will be happy as is. I sell a lot of these.
