Default Could have crashed my HDX450

Last night I finally got around to redoing my throttle and pitch curves after replacing the head on my 450. I went thru everything and set all to 90 and level. Once I got it all 90 and level I started my throttle and pitch curve set up. Once I got that done I went for a test flight. Powered up excellent and lifted off to about 4 feet when the nose started to bob up and down real bad. I landed did a quick inspection and tried again. Same thing. So now back to my hobby shop to see what was wrong. After about a hour of looking and nothing found, I stated to remove all control rods. The very first one that I came to was on the Pitch servo and when I went to take the ball link off the ball the ball came right out of the servo horn. After closer inspection I noticed that the hole was stripped out. I'm hoping this was the cause of my bobbing problem. Tomorrow I will head to my LHS and see if they have balls that will bolt to the servo horn, if so I will replace them all.

Consider that a success story..

The other day, I did a forward flip, then did a backward flip, did a inverted hover then a wide loop, straight into the ground at 100% throttle at about 7-15MPH...

The power of the blades being caught on the dirt and turning the heli's boom into the ground was so intense it literally twisted the frame enough to break my frame sides.

- Bent feather shaft
- Bent main shaft
- Bent flybar
- Stripped main gear
- Broken linkages
- Broken frame sides
- Bent boom
- Bent tail shaft
- Bent Skids
- Broken Landing Brackets.

Oddly.. My canopy and blades are ALL mint.. Hell their still shiny like someone just took a buffer to them.. Go figure.

Upgrade to steel balls. They are much better than the supplied aluminum ones.

Ok Update...... I changed the servo arms, Still same problem, Put back on the old head ( I had this one on before with NO PROBELMS) still same problem. I'm lost here.... Its a slow bobbing up and down of the nose ( or tail ). I checked my tail all is ok. CCPM interactions are dead on.
I would really like input on this... I'm lost......................

You said you changed your throttle curve, did you lower it? Could a lower head speed cause your problem?

The more I read on here about BOBBING, I think that my headspeed is the probelm.... I better check it. The more I think about it the more I think that might be it. I have it set up per the manual.... I'll bump it up a bit.

Default Head speed?

Hi,

Sorry..... late to the party. Exactly how did you figure out your headspeed?

I've got time. I'm waiting for replacement parts after doing a face-plant yesterday.

I'm also pulling to the left unless I have about 35% right trim. Probably seperate issue, but you never can tell.

Thanks!

Nordo

A drift to the left is natural due to the force of the tail blades.
