Default 7HV motor

I see the new motor is 1.4mm winding, does anyone know what configuration , i hope it's not d wind as it will create the same problem for jive users as the 4525le scorpion. HAving to run KSA etc
Hope they give us yy winding, then they will sell more motors than any of the other manufacturers combined, it's well documented that jive 120 can handle well over 200 amps continious on yy.
So Seb if you read here.......!

Kinda late to change wind I'm thinking if it is d wind, the motor has already been delayed a good 6 months now.

Sure as hell glad I jumped onto Nankin's (thanks guys for stepping up and helping me out!) offer to substitute the scorpion motor over the expected stock motor. I knew "soon" wasn't really on the cards.

hey Mixmaster Pilot - I'm in Canberra too! Can I ask what sort of a deal you got from Nankin? The shipping cost always seems to be a problem.

I'd be pretty shocked if it were incompatible with Kontronik since this is the ESC Sebatian's been using.

nope referring to jive and heli jive, on thick single wire internal resistant on d wind is very low causing commutation problems with jive, In the words of the great mr powercroco, jive is very partial to yy winding however. Hopefully this is what we'll get, similar to the latest scorpion le motors which are also yy . Won't say d is incompatible just more risk of commutation failure which is why ksa is recommended. some d winds work better, pyro black edition, than others 4525le

Evidently, not willing to comment yet. Several prototypes made and tested to date. I've not even heard them state the existing one is ready. I've been pretty okay with my Align 700MX-510, although it's not impressive power. Perhaps it's enough to cover me if I reduce my headspeed to say 1550 rpm.

the newest i heard was from luke, the 1.4 silicon steal was the biggest change, and was a power increase over the 1.2mm i tested. but sebastian put many hours into this motor, including making sure it ran perfect on kontronic ESCs for both low head speed flying and high head speed.

there is only 2 of this motor made right now so they are in the process of making more test motors. once we approve it the motor will most likely be put into production. Sebastian, correct me if im wrong.

I know nothing about production of motors however ... 4 weeks to make more motors / approve them for production, 6-8 weeks production / kitting, 4 weeks to distribute to LHS. Are we really looking at 3-4 months before we get these in new kits?

Like I said, I have no knowledge of production of motors, but like any good internet forum, idle speculation is always the rule in the absence of hard facts

thoughts from anyone in the know?

Hello Guys,

if my last test will go well Compass will be ready for delivery in about 4-6 Weeks!
I've two of the newest motors ready for Test.

You can see it here in my 7HV - now I need 10°C more for test. Today we had -19°C in the morning...

To be exact - there are now 4 motors with the 1.4mm copperwire diameter. The siliconsteel stator sheet is 0.2mm - 1.2mm would be really really bad

Greetings
Sebastian

Thanks for the update Seb; I was in need of newer info. Thought production was started, but I think 4-6 weeks we can do.... a little more patience...
