Default Embarassed... but have to share.

New to the hobby and my tx.... but because I have the v400d02... and they are notorious for having a really hot motor (I cant even touch it after 5 minutes of cooldown) I thought I kept burning up the motor. because after a few flights it would no longer lift...

I thought I was being extra hard on it since I am just learning how to hover (not really wizzing through the air - therefore not as much air flow to cool down the motor, etc)

But I must of hit the thottle hold switch... and v1 knob was at half point...

I actually replaced a motor already (but probably didnt need to) LOL!

Are we supposed to fill in the blanks where the .... are at?

Seems like you started a sentence but did not finished it. I think you are saying you replaced the motor because you thought it was bad. Because it would get hot and not create any power to lift the helicopter off of the ground ???

If that's the worst you do Billy, you'll be in pretty good shape!

I think I can top that though.

Replacing connectors on a battery and doing something thtupit to make both wires exactly the same length.

Three guesses and the first two don't count.

Oh... I think I know. You cut both wires at same time and the sissors instantly connected both wires and shorted out the battery? I did that once with a firecracker... I cut down the center of a firecracker to make two... and guess what happened?

(as far as my original post... no... I just use alot of... instead of periods for some reason)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah, you may have made a mistake in having your TX set up to make you think you had a bad motor but having a spare motor isn't a bad idea anyway.

If nothing else, people say that not all motors are created equal so you may find one of the motors a better performer than the other and even if not, spares are never wasted as one can almost always find uses for parts one way or another.

Consider it a lesson learned and if you are like me, soon forgotten.
