Default My HP-05 motor is sick

I've got well over 500 flights on my HP-05 motor. I just replaced the pinion, it had a groove worn in it from the main gear. I figured that was my problem because the motor was having a hard time starting up and lot's of vibration on the machine. No dice though. The motor still isn't starting easily and seems to have vibration. Even with the main gear off and the motor free, I run the throttle up an the motor only sometimes turns. If I spin it by hand a bit to get it started then it runs up. I've never serviced this motor, what should I be looking at to fix it? Or is it just played out and time for a new one.
I did regularly keep oil on the bearings, or at least squirted a bit on the main shaft and hoped it soaked thru.
Thanks all

The bearings are the only thing you can really service from a maintenance stand point. But with well over 500 flights on it, I would say you got your money worth out of it and it's time for a new motor. I would suggest moving up to a HP06V2.

I wonder if my bearings are out. Is that an easy thing to check? I'll ask the Google.

I have an HP06, not sure if it's a V2 or not. I just really enjoyed the 05 with my 120 tail motor. It seems like the perfect balance of power and durability/crashability. Do you think the HP06V2 would match up to my SR120 tail nicely?

Yep. I had that setup myself on a stock frame. I eventually went to a brushless tail when I switched over to a MH frame. I wanted a 3mm boom.
