Don't fear head-speed, its your friend and you will acclimate quickly. 4k might be really good stretched, I'm not sure on that, so ignore my 4k is low comment. Here is a couple things I'd do for starters: Checking vibration, put on safety glasses and spin the heli up in your hand, does the frame have any nasty buzz to it, or is it smooth.. It can be very smooth, but doesn't have to be perfect. If you have mesh too tight, that can cause enough vibration to confuse the gyro. (many other things cause buzz, but your bits are new so...) Is there any translating vibration, a buzz that response to rpms? I've flown with some pretty bent bits and the joke is, nothing rpms can't fix. Concerning your wobble, when exactly does it appear, does it ever stop? If your hitecs are bouncing, you might be fighting a battle you can't win, until you fix or replace them. If its not the hitecs, then dropping the gain should be noticeable, too low and the heli will be loose. Your setup shouldn't be giving you this much hassle, balanced blades, dampner kit installed correctly? Links not binding, you didn't lock down DFC links by accident. What you have will be a GREAT heli, there is something really simple causing you grief. |

Hi Sky
Thank you for your encouragement. Lynx sent me an email & told me to send the motor to US for checking although Vietnam is nearer to me. I think I will just order for a Spin 8000. So far I have good experience with Lynx parts except for this motor and a sloppy pro swash (I have never touched their servos). Now I am on a trip in Europe for a week. Based on my memory when I spooled it up in my hand, I don't feel much vibration. The DFC links are buttery smooth. Even after I lowered the gain to 20 the dance is still there. I also changed to a normal Lynx rotor head and main blade grip (retired form my 130X last year to give way to DFC link. Have been flying well). I thought it would be alright as it spooled up very smoothly in my hand. Then I raise the gain to 40 and let it go up the sky. The wobble was so bad that I have to hit throttle hold and had a controlled crash. After that, I spooled up in my hand and it was still very smooth (it was always smooth in my hand but wobble in air). But then I smell smoke and there the Lynx motor go ... I have to wait for the Spin motor to come to resume the trial again. After investing so much in this 150X, I think there is no turning back. I the spin motor is still like that, I may have to change the servos. Cheaper to use HK servos for this test??? Quote:

Check your main blades are balanced, as Sky mentioned, and no slop in the blade grips. Unbalanced blades can cause vibrations or wobble. And slop in blade grips could cause wobble on pitch changes. At the same time, check the blade tracking. Also check the slop on your servos as this can easily cause wobble too. The slop could be from the servo gears, the servo arm, the linkages - if they're the stock 130x linkages, or combination of these. Finally, as Sky also mention, you may want to bump up your rpm,...but maybe not as high as 5000 - use 4500 or 4600. To gear it properly and have the Talon 15 better govern it, you'll need to use a 10T pinion. Also try first with low timing, especially if you don't plan on doing smack 3d on it - it'll keep the motor running less hot. |

I hope this turns out to be not to dumb of a question and someone can give me some direction. I want to get a gy280 for my 130x. First I wanted to make sure I could get the mikado vstabi running on my computer. I have a mac btw. I created the accounts and got the one time download. Successfully downloaded and installed the Silabs Vstabi driver 2.9. Now what? Cant get anything to happen now. Do I need to have the gy280 plugged in? Is there something else that I need to install? Please help. I just want to fly my 130.

Liquid electrical tape I actually have. I wasn't able to find BlackMax local, and I didn't want to order a tiny thing of glue and get killed on shipping lol

I've never tried the LET...does it hold well? You're right, ordering a small tube sucks, so I got mine while Dylwad was ordering some other items from McMaster. I got some nice micro screw drivers too
So now that my glue is pretty much used up ......I'm wondering if I should just order a tube or go ahead and try something else I can find locally at a hardware or auto store. |

By my account, at my hourly rate and counting all attempts so far I've lost $90 plus supplies trying to solder these. Who can I pay to do it for me? I'm getting so frustrated its not worth my time and effort. Its making me want to sell the heli without building it

I'll still do it but it involves shipping and even more delay to your build....your call. PM me if you'd like. |
