Default Chase 360 flight times

All the video's so far have been with crazy head speed and non-stop smacking resulting in 3 minute flight times. What can we expect for more sedate 3D? I like to get 4 - 5 minute flights. Is this possible? Would be nice to see a video at more sane speeds.

I think it will be similar to gaui X3 or warp. But holly batman i've seen the video of TDR flying soft 3d for 15 minutes... that would be insanely cool if 450s could do this.

The motor on it (Scorpion 2520-1880) is insanely powerful, however, not very efficient.

Even with a larger battery that motor will chew through batteries like no tomorrow. The KDE 450XF has incredible power and also longer flight times due to running much more efficiently than the scorpion. Another user did some analysis based off his ESC logs on his X3 comparing flight times (Jeti MAH used for timer) and power between the 2520, Align 460mx, and the KDE 450XF. The KDE was almost on par with the Scoprion and was more efficient than the Align. Very nice motor.

You could probably get 8-10 min flights if you put a much less powerful motor in there and ran a 1500mah or so battery.

yesterday I got 10 min flights on my Compass atom 500. It is becase I am having issues with the ESC putting out full power, never the less, I was doing mild 3D the entire time and after 10 min voltage was at 3.76v per cell!

+1. I too am interested in seeing how the Chase 360 handles and performs at low(er) head speeds. Also can somebody post what the AUW of the Chase (including lipo) is? This information will be useful for comparison purposes.

I can get 10+ minutes on either my 550x or 550 DFC running 520's with my 5300mah gensace.

A better example would be that I'm getting 8 minutes on 3000mah 45c Pulse batteries on my 500x, I'm hoping I can use the same batteries on a Chase 385 setup and get slightly better times, providing the Chase is significantly lighter.

I have an extra 520H 1320kv motor... wonder if it would be useable...

Default Chase 360

When I flew with the KDE 450XF on the Chase I average 3:30-4:00 depending on the flying style, but mainly I'm pretty agressive. I'll have to do testing with the Savox and Scorpion motors to see the flight times.

What size battery were you using? We need that info for those times to be useful.

Default chase flight times

Hey guys I get a solid 3 min flight at crazy had speed. I would say this little scorpion motor is quite efficent. I will go do a smooth flight at lower hs and post the flight time. I am also looking at going 8s.

For those that asked, flighttime 6:30 at low headspeed put back 1000mah after the flight. I didn't have my program box so the ebar is not optimized for slower headspeeds.

Chase 360 Low headspeed 2250 RPM (6 min 38 sec)

What does "low head speed" and "crazy head speed" mean?

Please guys, if we are going to post info about flight times we need the following info to make the times relevant:

Motor
Headspeed (actual number)
battery size
flight time
ending voltage or mah put back in

That stuff is a minimum for it to be useful info. Also helpful would be which main blades used, but this is minor compared to the other info.

Thanks for the video. The flight time is perfect, it was low RPM but not that low, still had some nice dose of punch.
Could surely add some flight time lowering the HS a bit more.

How does the tail holds at that HS?
There were no high tail stress moves in this video, like a very fast'n funnel with the tail screaming loud or aileron loop.

But the video was shot on windy day, and the tail shown no visible issues.

That was more what I was looking for What size lipo was used in that flight? What was the ESC used and did it come down hot after the flight?

1250 pulse
HW 50 amp.
the hobbywing runs ice cold. 3 minute stick banging or 6 minutes of slow, it is never hot even in 90 degree ambient temps.

3:11 exit from flipping loop is a hard blow out. It recovered nicely and I kept flying but if you look close you can see it. I hit the pitch too hard to stop at the bottom and the heavy gust hit it at the same time. The tail is getting worked over pretty good in the wind but I didn't have my box to up the tail gain which I would at this headspeed.

Good luck with that.

That said on my Goblin 500,
Q 4115 1200kv
2000 RPM
5000 6S pulse packs 35C
9 mintue flight times
3100-3400 mAh used, 3350 - 3550 put back in with a Icharger 308D 3% balance on the change at 10amp's

That's exactly the type of report that is most helpful. Now if only we could get the guys that are Chase to do the same.

That's some serious flight time on that G500, btw. Granted it's low rpm.

Winner! Thanks BrainDrain!

I will be running 1800mah packs, so I should be able to get 8+min flights based on that! I will likely be running at around 2800-3k though, which should still yield some pretty decent flight times.

Watching Kenny M flying his 360 at a funfly last weekend, he get's around 2:30 a flight. He is running a Pulse 1350 and 3600 rpm. He said the bigger battery's are just too heavy for this bird, at least for his style of flying.
