I thought about it but I'm afraid the X5 tube causes a rear center of gravity.

I will choose the length of the blades depending on the center of gravity with the new engine.

the cg is a bit tail heavy with the x5 boom,i just made a couple test flights on just 15% nitro(its all I have at the moment)seems to fly pretty good and a decent amount of power ,even with the 520 blades.prob add a little lead shot and epoxy in the nose of the canopy to help out.seemed to have decent power on 15%,gonna run a few more tanks of 15 then put some 30 in it and turn the gov on at 2500.

Can you compare the RTF weight with your 550?

550,w550 blades/5000mah battery =6.9 lbs
nx4,ys50/520blades/1450 life bat/fuel=5.3 lbs

This sounds better every day. That's a big difference in weight. Did you fly today? What do you think?

just played around a bit with 15% nitro, seems pretty decent power, ill pick up some 30%on mon and finish breaking in the motor.
my impressions so far with the few flights ive done,i think its gonna be a blast.did a few autos from 10 ft and it just floats.

Are you using a gov? I wonder how it would be with more headspeed and more aggressive gov. Could you do some more aggressive load ups on the motor? Like some full or heavy pitch loops, id like to hear how it carries itself through.

Heli doc , that video isn't mine, I'm currently breaking in the motor and should have a video soon .
I'm def running a bit more head than the one in the vid.

mmracecars, this is looking excellent, gr8 job!

A Hyperion Life 2100 fits no problem (I run mine vertically up front sitting on the ledge), but not sure the little extra weight will help much balancing out that long tail!

I'd pay you for a clutch mod as well, you may need to go into business!

What kind of flight time do you think you will get on the stock tank?

I wonder if you could use the other gearing kits to get around 2700-2900rpm with the stock boom and blades. http://www.anythingheli.com/gaui-nx4...odized-313109/

At 5 min header tank is full and somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 left in the tank.that was on ys120 15% cool power , I' put the stock blades / boom back on for some comparison , then I'll try the 30%. I think the 19t pinion I'll try next , that should put it up around 2700
