Angry Heli wants to tip over forward and to right side

I set the beast up right but the heli on spool up and before lift off wants to dive to the right and forward..I already lost 2 sets of blades and 3 servos because of blade strikes...
I dont know why its doing this...Im almost positive the beast is setup right.

I am certainly not an expert but this absolutely sounds like a vibration issue to me.

Also, what tape are you using to hold down the unit? I would suggest 3M 411 or 4011 tape.

Hi, You should chase vibrations.

Take a look here https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=274702
I'm still chasing vibrations in my velo50 with beastx.

Vibration, mounting location and mounting pad type.

it's now on the right side frame inline with the main shaft.

I can now take my time spooling up on concrete and very gently lift the 550 into the air.
I always spool up without the blades on a new install, just to make sure that there's no such tendencies.

I had a similar issue and it was my transmitter. For some reason my trim was moved out from center. Because this is an FBL system, any stick input at takeoff can be a bad thing!

Same with mine. Before lift-off it wants to move forward and tip over to right. I will be peforming more troubleshooting tonight. Checking for vibe, blades and even bad Aileronservo, swash level in MB step G.

My MB installed horizontal in front tray (mouth ) of the frame.

Almost positive may not be enough...This issue sounds a LOT like reversed corrections,.

Power up the machine, wait for initialization to complete. Grab the heli from behind and tilt it to the right, watch the swash and make sure it moves LEFT. Then tilt the heli forward, and check that the swash tilts BACK.

If either or both of those reactions are wrong, go into setup step M and make them work the right way.

If all else fails and you are anywhere near Flushing in Queens, NY, I'd be happy to take a look at it.

Torch8... Dave here, feeling a lot better than the other day...sorry we couldn't get together.

PM if interested.

Stilll waiting for the type of tape you are using. I had similar problems untill I went with the 3m 4011 tape. One layer and what a world of difference............

Ya..I also hear its a tape issue...I did check and the swash moves in the right directions when I move the heli....
I wish I can bring it over to ya in Queens but I just packed up my heli...Im moving to SoCal next week.Maybe I'll find someone there to look at it???
I also spooled it up without the bladed and no vibration issues.

johnic,

I met with torch8 yesterday, and what we found was that in his case it WAS vibration related, but not the tape... he had a slightly bent tail rotor shaft that was causing enough vibes for the unit to go nuts at high RPM.

A new tail shaft cured it, and it's flying solid again.

Similar to my story.

Reducing vibration helped, and I took it further by experimenting with mounting tape and location. For me the thin 3M tape worked out best, and I mounted it on the side of the frame in line with the main shaft, which is where I determined the vibration was the lowest.

Mine is rock solid and I can take my time spooling up and lifting off without the slightest sign of tilting.
