Hadn't seen that image yet, thanks for sharing! And yes, the underside of the nose section is your battery compartment - would be nice to link to Sebastions post where he offers up some dimensions and hints as to the power configurations he has in mind. Also, important to note the intended blade sizes and AUW of the model.

Really like that they angled the inner swash balls at 90 degrees - always wondered why no one did that....

Sweet little heli, as he says it's very mini-TDR ish.. I imagine the looks will be a bit love it or hate it lol.

Lots of TDR name dropping in the video. Don't forget the reason the TDR and mikado are so highly regarded. The parts, hardware, machining, and bearings are all the best quality you can get. You can copy the design elements and call whatever you come up with "TDR inspired" all day long. Once you produce the parts in outsourced machine shops located in 3rd world countries the quality of the machine is outside your control.

Maybe I'm crazy butim not a big fan of the TDR look. The frame and head look nice but I don't care for the skid and canopy style that much. Nice to see more selection either way though.

Yeah, you're right - Compass use really old manual machines controled by childhands in the 3rd world. Employes get 1,5 USD a day for 20 hours work and the bearings Compass used are handcrafted...

The WARP should't look to much like a TDR. In fact the only two similaritis are the the clamp for the struts and the swashguide. If you look to the diffrences, you can see its a unigue design.
Some diffrences:
Motor position: In the back not in the front
Rotorhead: totally rigid, no swashdriver on shaft or centerhub
Tailbelt: TDR use Torque Tube
Maingear: TDR use 2 Step helical gear we use one step beltdrive.
Aileronservoposition: Just compare it
Canopyshape: TDR Canopy is closed in the rear.
No Tailsupports: TDR use it.
Carbon Tailcontrolrod: TDR has it on top of the boom.
Radiotray: TDR in the rear - Warp in the Front
Rudderservoposition: TDR in the rear - Warp in the CG.
One Way Bearing: TDR straight on the shaft - Warp on a hardened sleeve.

Compass Model use best quality bearing you get in the asia marked. Of course Compass could safe some money by using cheap bearings but compare the Compass quality of bearings to the quality the German brands use - its almost the same and not comparable to almost all other asia brands.

Tolerances on Compass aluminium and CF Parts are really thight! Important sizes will be checked by a protocoll of the QC. CF Parts have total clear edges and perfect fit! Never had a cf part running out of tolerance.

Only a few third party manufacturer are involved in the production of compass helicopters. That the boommaker, canopymaker and plasticinjection. Some very easy aluminium parts like crossmembers are outsourced to.

Compass use very high quality milling tools and the CNC machines are in good condition.

Compass use really good aluminium like 7075 and 6061.

I spend one week at Compass a few weeks ago and I can tell you, there are no poor childs working in this 3rd world factory. Its kind of funny to hear people make a judgement about something the never saw before. China is not the China you know from something bad in television. There are a couple of corners - more modern than Germany! I was in factorys for electronic devices and I can tell you. Its clean like an operation room in the hospital and no single employe spend the whole day in toxic smoke.

I would say - and guys I know Mikado and Henseleit and all the other noble Brands from Germany very well. Owned some machines from then and also know the guys behind those companys very well - that Compass is from quality point of view on the same level! I need to accept the fact, that our manuals for the helicopters are not that good - but this will be changed with the Warp three sixty.

Thanks for the info Seb!

BTW I think it looks as much like a Beam as it does a TDR.

Yeah, all that's true, but it's really still a TDR!

I feel the same way. The TDR does nothing for me, it's just ugly. I'm in the minority, though.
