Ouch that is ruthless. Some amazing timing from the camera man though...

Well guys here I am, sorry to say. But I am proud to say I got this morning's action on camera. For your viewing pleasure:

Fortunately the 3Dplus is a rugged bread. Although I did not have the wherewithal for a post-mortem shot, it's really not that bad, no electronics damaged, and I hope to have it going this weekend or soon next week.

So, it did not get more than a few inches off the ground... does it still count as a crash? Am I "in" or does it need to be hardcore like Piranah hehe

Geez man, sounds like you had the headspeed up waaaay too high! I mean, sucks about your bird getting trashed, but if you were just trying to get up a little, you should've had it set to like 50% throttle or so. What motor do you have in it anyways?!?!?! Sounded like it would really rip if you got it off the ground!

One thing I also noticed that is likely the cause of your problems: The tail servo was either reversed or your direction of correction for your gyro is set wrong (unless you were purposely flipping the tail around like that). Hopfeully you get it all decked out again and have better luck next round. I believe that puts you in the club though!

Thats harsh TicToc I feel for you
Sucks for it to go down on a maiden.
At least you know what to correct now and it's good you took it so well. I've seen a few people get very very worked about about every crash and I think it starts to take away some of the enjoyment of the hobby.
Stick with it, we will always be here to lend a hand

one thing I always did!! before I was 100% sure of which way the direction of the gyro or tail servo was - I always put training feet on for the 1st couple of tests etc

It helped me everytime ...... as my heli would always spin out etc ..... lol

Now I understand how to set it correct, and Im sure you will too in time.

That my friend is the sound of an OS50sxh very happy with short lines to a GP Blackline55. I had the throttle curve 15-40-50-75-100 ostensibly to get in some full throttle climb-outs and set the high needle. Also, I had no idea what the hell I was doing Sounds real good doesn't it? Mike at Nankin implied I might have my parts tomorrow, MWAHAHAHA! I love the nitro way more than i could have imagined.

I think you had it a lot higher than that though. If the rpm's shoot up that high, you seriously have your needles screwed in too far. Might want to go back to 100% stock settings and re-tune. The OS 50 will have a nice ring to it at full throttle, not a scream like in the video. If you get it up and hovering, try and get a temperature off of it after about a minute and see if it's getting hot (190*+). If you are at like 220* just hovering, you'll grenade the motor for sure!

dear Skunk,
I have replied in my "3D+ super slow motion" thread so as not to hijack this one.

Well, the Knight 3D went in today.

Cause? Pitch servo got pulled out of my RX.

I had just landed, and as I was taking off again, it just tilted over to the right in less then a second. The blades hit the ground and well, you know the rest. This was it's 6th flight after being rebuilt... that's the real pisser.

New compass blades are trash. Struts, boom, horizontal supports, and flybar got taken out. I'm going to guess that my spindle and mainshaft are probably toasted as well.
