Just my $0.02 worth:
Buy your next helicopter from an on-line forum or a fun fly.

I could name another forum that I use for buying stuff. On that one, I have never been scammed or disappointed in the results.

I have bought helicopters (450, 600 and 90 size), motors, radios - I cannot list all of the stuff I've sold or purchased from that forum.

But, be ready to completely check your purchase as soon as you get it. I will take a motor apart to check bearings / rust and I will do a complete rebuild of an airframe to make sure it is up to my standards.

I would use eBay as the 2nd option - but I've had issues with sellers from eBay in the past. And, I almost always use the "Buy It Now" option instead of waiting for an auction.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use Craigslist.
NEVER.

I must say that I did buy my first Trex600N on the auction site but went in person to collect from the seller where he demonstrated it to me flying very well 3D and all. In time I converted it to electric and still use it to date.

Not many people in this area fly heli's unfortunately. So it hard to find one at a fun fly. Hell, even the hobby shops here and the ones in New Orleans does not sell anything bigger than a 450 size. And the ones here in Baton Rouge only sell Blade 450's. I was thinking of joining the local r/c club, but only 2-3 people fly helicopters. And when I looking into joining it like pulling teeth to get advice from them over the phone, much less meeting them. I have a big front yard where I do hovering after I change something and a big field with lakes across the street from my house to really fly in. It's a 45 min drive to the local air field, so I just fly in the field.

I considered having the N. O. hobby shop order me one but he wanted more than online prices to do so. And those ran 800$ plus for complete heli.

Same bird. Notice US price tag. Also does not come with lipo's, rx lipo or satellite. Big price tag on that one.

The currency translation is correct, what I was saying is that mostly spending a buck in the US is the same as us spending a pound in the UK but pure currency conversion is 1.6 times the $ so GBP £1.00=$1.60c. Hope that makes sense.

So for an American to buy from the UK will be expensive and so will the shipping, most sellers won't ship abroad anyway. In the US you would expect to pay between $600-$1000 for a honest flying machine but looking on US eBay there is nothing to buy.

Here's the setup on the E

Hitec HS-325HB on cyclic
Align DS620 on tail
Align GP780 gyro
Scorpion HK-4025-740kv
Align RCE-B3X BEC
Align RCE-BL75G ESC
CF frame
AR6200 rx
Align 7.4v rx lipo
4 Blue lipo's 6s 5000msh 20c
CF paddles
Pro 3D CF blades
Belt drive

All electronics have been tested and working, but still in rebuild stages to make its flight ready. I trust no one else work but my own.

The Nitro is bare bones with only CF frame with engine and tank. Torque tube. Came with extra set of blades and spare parts.

So if someone could help me out in letting me know if I was right with this purchase. Thanks, working on how to add pics to post.
it was worth it, in fact it was a really good deal expecially if you are thinking for building a nitro

if not sell the nitro airframe and use that money to pay for some nice servos
3 of these will run you about 120 shipped

or if there is a shop around you that has the KST ds725mg its the same servo

Yea after sleeping on it, that's my plan. Going to keep what I have and sell the Nitro frame to help pay for the upgrades needed. New servos, new motor and lipo. Then I'll sell the HK-4025 740kv to help cover the motor cost. Have servos on the way now.

She flies. Still waiting on servos to come in mail, got impatient so I went with what I had. Did light flying, got about 9 minute flight but didn't want to run lipo down too much until a few cycles go through it. Motor and lipo were cool to touch, same for ESC. Tail heald good after few tweaks on gyro. All in all, I'm happy, after a few upgrades she'll be a great bird I think.

Looking to order the new motor this weekend, would these motors be a good replacement? Also work with my ESC, Align RCE-BL75G

Either of those motors will work well for a 6S 600. They both specify an ESC 100A or more, as your is rated at 75A only and being an Align I personally don't see it lasting unless all you do will be hovering. You need between 100-120A ESC and a 6S 5Ah min 40C to get any performance out of this rig. I know this is not what you want to hear but I am sure you don't want to see your precious bird go up in flames the first time you decide to give it some welly.....

Thought I'd add a video I made of the 600 with how I bought it. Still waiting for TGY-725mg servos to come in. Sorry about the length of the video, I had my phone set for UHD, and apparently it stops automatically at 5 minutes. Some pics also

Well done. I am surprised it flies that well with what you got with it but one can't argue with facts. Still you do know it is low spec as far as the components on it for it to be reliable for the long term or to become a harder performing rig.

Oh Yea, I know it's low spec. I'm not as talented as most of the pilots here but I'm trying to get there. I didn't go to the limits of the heli just not to push it. I fly my 450 a little more aggressive. I plan to upgrade it soon. Have the servos coming, but the rest will have to wait. Expecting another little one on Thursday this week so my heli spending budget has been put on hold, for now lol. Will be upgrading motor, ESC, and lipo.

OK, after waiting for over 2 months, I finally have all my servos from HK. Don't even want to talk about it lol. Tgy-ds725mg. Also bought a Turnigy T600 4030 1100kv motor, new receiver lipo and New 6s 40c lipo on way. Wanting to see any recommendations on ESC. I know I will need a 100-120a for this motor. Was looking at the CC Edge 100 or heard the Hobbywing Platinum V3 100a might be a good one also. Anyone have any recommendations on these or other ESC's that might be good for this setup?

Think I should go with the YEP instead of CC edge or the like?

I've had really good experience with YEP esc in my other helis. I even intended on running one in a 500. But after I looked at my 600, something in the back of my head said "buy name brand" and I've decided to listen. Your mileage may vary

I am against buying used unless you're getting a very very good deal. I recently bought a trex 500, thinking it was a "brand new" used heli. But it was an older model, and build quality was a D (tail servo wire was partly eaten through by the torque tube gear). For all the work I put into it going through the entire thing I woul've been better off buying a brand new one. That's my 2 cents.
