Default So what do swash mix numbers really mean?

I am done with my first real heli build (trex 450 sportv2) and trying to wrap up the final setup before this weekend. I have swash mix numbers in the ebook I bought from rchelicopterfun.com for a beginner setup. I was just wondering if someone could enlighten me on how and when and why these numbers should or have to be changed. If there is links to articles or videos that would great.

+ and - numbers determine which way the swash plate moves. and how much it moves. you change the amount of collective pitch wit the swash mix and how fast or slow the helicopter flips and rrolls ( or you may say how twitchy it is )

if you getting negative pitch when your getting positive you may need to change something. if the swash plate is not moving correctly you may need to change the numbers. if you want it to roll and flip faster and slower you need to change the numbers.

The closer you are to 100 either positive or negative the more amount of travel your swash plate has. If you give forward elevator but your swash plate tilts the wrong way, change the number from positive to negative and it will reverse your elevator commands so that everything works correctly. That is the same for collective and aileron.

Adjust the numbers to 1) set collective pitch maximums 2) set cyclic pitch maximums 3) prevent servo/ mechanical binding at the extremes (corners of cyclic stick when at full positive or negative pitch)

Swash mix is like travel adjust but for a function not a channel.

So setting SM on collective, adjusts the travel of all three servos when you move the collective stick, but changed nothing on the aileron or elevator motion.

I do not like setting a swash mix number, as that will vary based on the servos, Tx, etc. Better to set a pitch range and accept what the SM turns out to be.
