Default Help with head setup please.

I seem to have a problem that won’t go away. I’ve watched all the videos, multiple times, but I’m getting nowhere.

I “think” the swash, washout arms and fly-bar cage are all level but I come up with different blade pitch readings on opposite sides of the heli. On one side, I come up with 10-0-10 and on the other side, 8-(+3)-12, or something close to that.

I leveled the swash and was able to get it perfect through the entire range of movement using the t-rex tool so I think that it is correct. The other two I have to eyeball.

Here are some pix and please let me know if you see anything that I am missing. I can’t seem to figure it out.

Thanks.

Roger.

Pix are at half stick.

Edit: Pix show opposite sides.

Check the lengths of your pitch control rods. They should be the same length. Have you tracked the blades?

Sorry, I should clarify here a bit. When I measure the pitch of my blades, I do both blades on one side of the heli. Then I turn the heli around and do the same on the other side. This is where the problem is. On one side with “both” blades I get perfect pitch readings. –10 0 +10. When I do the other side of the heli, I get a different reading and it’s off by maybe 3 or 4 degrees. I believe it has been this way from the beginning.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks.

Roger.

Thanks John, she flew okay I guess but I have only been hovering. I tested her when I bought the pitch gauge, and I know it was off then. Not knowing what the heck I was doing, I didn’t try to fix this until now…after installing the new servos.

I have looked closely at the head and I can’t see anything wrong with it. As the picture shows, the swash, washout and flybar all look fairly level. There is no binding that I can detect so I am at a loss.

The only thing I haven’t touched yet is the wash out arms, but they seem okay. Like you said, it seems odd and I am hoping someone has had these systems also and has a fix.

If anyone needs them, I can post more pix or even a movie.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Roger.

Thanks Sokal for your help.

Here are the pix you asked for and a couple more. If you need anything else just ask and I will try to get them up for you. All pix are at half stick and 0 pitch.

Roger.
