Default Heli Down --

So I finally got all my woes worked out -- the clicking noise and loss of power -- then the pinions (3) locking up -- I get 5 flights on er and now the belt snapped in flight.
Man I love this heli but mechanically its getting expensive :0) Blew the tail case apart and that seemes to contain the dmamage to the tail and case. -- Time for the cnc heheheh

How many belts has anyone gone through?

I snapped a belt once after damaging it in a botched auto and not noticing it. Before then I had 400 flights on one belt.

It's likely you compromised it from a previous incident. That's part of the fun when doing repairs on any heli. Easy to miss things.

Not counting the canopy and blades, I'm going to have to put $165 of parts to get it flying again...also need landing gear as well. With the blades and canopy, I'm as well off to buy another kit.

I went through two in the first month trying to get the belt tension right. I still don't know if it's right but it hasn't broken on me for a bit (knock on wood).

Flew hundreds of flights on my first few belts and only replaced them as preventive maintenance.
My recent experience is different, two broken belts in the last two months..... Its amazing that I was able to land each time under power with the belt like that. I say broken but actually the cords broke leaving the rubber backing still in place. It ends up making the belt about 5mm longer and very loose!
