I prefer to tear down parts of the heli when I buy used or when I buy something pre-assembled to assure that the hardware that needed thread lock applied, has thread lock. Such as the feathering shaft hardware, I would like to know that the bolts have been thread locked into the feathering shaft.
You should consider doing the head set up from scratch to know if it was done correctly and to make the setup work correctly on your transmitter and settings. Without having done the work yourself or checking each one over, there is no other way to know if the balls are installed correctly and not loose or threads stripped. Or how many turns the links are installed onto the rods. Just a couple things I was thinking of, probably more to consider |

B400 Gyro Installation
Does anyone know if I can install the stock gyro laying flat on its back as opposed to standing up and facing the tail (the way that it came from the factory)? It seems like that would be a little more secure way of installing it.

According to the gyro's instructions, no you cannot. I believe the gyro's sensor must be in a vertical position to work correctly.
Here is a link to the G110's manual.

Either one is fine. just depends if you want to buy the leveller or a bunch of tie wraps.

My B400 flys just like it does in the sim...didn't before I read the bible and set the head up. Heck, I even think I'll put on the carbon blades!

Hi. I just bought a used blade 400 some months ago and im having some issues, mybe the best place to post my problems is here as i try to use this notes as good as i can. First flights were ok, then one day before take of my blade holder went lose, broke blade, tail blade some linkage, feathering shaft, and also 3 cyclic servos. Ok I reasembled head, fitted in the Hitec HS65-HB, retrimed and tried again. Back to crash... broke main tail drive shaft, bent main shaft and redone all. So the 3th was the charm, done about 15 flights (ive done about 5h sim before) and again crash. All the heli wasnt stable, the tail twitched but all was leveled. So this crash i broke the tail holder, bent the boom, broke boom support, broke blade holder. Now im rebuilding and going back to no spare parts. My main question is, what can i do to incorporate HK450 CCPM 3D parts to my existing parts, is it best to buy a new esc, gyro and new tail servo? Im loking to eventauly switch to HK as im still learning and crashing... more easy on the money and the time to buy is the same for other parts or HK oarts to me. SO what suggestion, what the best way to procede? Thx all

Slyster, was there ever a B450 Bible or did you mean B400?

I can't even remember how long I have had a Blade 400, probably 8 years, but I can tell you, so me and so many others have really enjoyed and appreciated the time and effort you had put in to maintaining this valuable resource. Thank you very much for your past devotion! Steve
