Default Stripped thumb screw threads

I managed to strip the threads for my canopy thumb screws. A friend told me about the helicoil thread repair so I ordered the tool and installed it tonight. It was fast and easy, maybe 10 minutes to do both sides and cost under $20.

In order from preventing that from happening, you can screw the set scew into the monoblock with red thread lock instead of locking it into the thumb screw. It will also act as a guide when putting the canopy on.

That may work well. I've been considering drilling out the grommet so it isn't so tight and using vibra tite to keep screws in

I have thread locked my studs in and do the same but I must admit screwing them on is hard work and I keep applying grease to the canopy grommets to make it easier !
Still waiting on RC Booya to come out with the design for the rear, I have just ordered the front clips from them, These are so much easier that the original front posts etc .

I'm using these: http://www.helidirect.com/shs-canopy...70-p-31917.hdx

They make the canopy stand-off from the frame 8-10mm, but it doesn't seem to affect the canopy other than that.

Thanks capebob, I saw those before, but didn't want to drop $30 for the experiment. I already had to grind away some of the canopy for the DFC arms to stop rubbing. Do those mounts cause the canopy to pitch in toward the head at all?

I have a follower arm head and I had to grind away a little of the canopy to keep those from rubbing. I did that before I installed the quick release mounts and didn't have to grind away any more after installing the mounts.

I have been speaking to Jeff @ rc booya. They will supply rear mounts but they hold the canopy out slightly so maybe need to do a little work with the canopy to get it right.
I will be ordering a set over the weekend.

Which rcbooya part numbers for front and back? Are the back ones the 11mm standoffs for SAB?

The full kit consists of the Booya 1 slide on mounts for the front and quick release for the back . Cost for the full kit is $47.99 shipped CONUS and payable thru PayPal to sales@rcbooya.com

This was taken off FB earlier today , Ive ordered 2 sets. However Im still waiting on canopies from Carbon Xtreme as they don't have stock at present but should be in before the end of the year ! fingers crossed .
However I have just brought another Mostro so at least I can use them on that one !
