Default 8S SETUP ? ON TREX 600ESP

I'm looking for advice on an 8s setup using a scorpion HK4025 890kv, castle 85hv, and 2 4s 25c 3300mah or 4000mah in series for approx 5 min flight time at 80% battery drain. My question is will 3300mah get it done or do i need to go with 4000mah. Also what pinion gear would i run to achieve about 2200 RPM Head speed.
I would appreciate any advice I could get on this subject or even a setup you would recommend.

for what its worth I'm running a 4025-890 0n 10S with a 12T pinion and squeezing 2150 but keep I keep it @ 2000
your looking at a 16T pinion with a 170 main gear @ 90% EFF with 3.65 cell voltage you should hit 2200 HS

Yes, 3300 packs will work if you land within 5 mins. However, you will need high discharge packs and you will be pushing packs pretty hard. Better go with 4000 option.

i ran 4000mah packs with a 4025-1100 and ran around 4:30 runs at 2100-2200 HS and would charge back anywhere from 2800-3200 mah. i dont always fly the same routines so discharge varies

If you are going for a 8s setup, you should consider castle's new ICE ESC.
it is smaller in size, and logs head speed, throtle stick input, temp., voltage, amp...

I'm also running the 890 and just switched to a 14T pinion which gives me just under 2000 headspeed. I use the 3300 35c packs from hyperion and get just over 5 min flight with some 3d, but mostly sport flying and put around 80% back in on charge. the 4000 packs are about 120g heaver for both, but there should be plenty of power to offset if you want longer run times.

Night, are you talking about what you get on 10S? How would 8S compare? I have the Neu 1515 2Y, bought it by accident.Anyway, it is 1100Kv, the Neu website recommends 10S, everyone with the scorion 1100Kv is running 8S? I see you running 10S with 890kv. I am trying to decide to keep the motor and go 8S or 10S. I have been told with 10S, my pinion would be too small. Any one have any advice.

With that kv you would @ 8S need
a 13 T pinion for a HS of about 2100
a 14T ~ 2270
@ 10S, a 10T would give you a HS of almost 2050
a 11T would get you up to 2250
