I checked my pinion.
After 62 flights also mine is a little worn but much less of your pinion. Maybe your main gear has too much "mineral filler" ??? |

How did you solve it? How's the new one? Lasts much longer?
I have the same problem here but after 30+ flights... |

Replaced mine after 102 cycles, looks just like the one on the picture, just 14 flights since so to early to tell if it will wear down again

Who can make this pinion out of steel? I'd buy few of them.
I have 40 flights on the second one and it looks the same as the first one but now I have 10 more flights on this one HAHAHA. I'm really tired changing this pinion almost every week!!! Don't get me wrong I love this heli but this small part is piece of ***t! |

It must be everyones problem.
Everyone just check your pinions closely and you'll notice such a wear. SAB written on their FB that they will look at it and make a steel one very soon. I hope soon is next week. |

Mine is worn out as well after 100 flights. Will be interesting to see if a replacement lasts longer since the main gear is worn in.

My thoughts too, I had 70 flights on mine just replaced the pinion will see how it goes with a worn in main?
Not going to use any lube at all and see what happens, some poeple have had luck with WD-40, some with Tri flow or other products, my veiw is there's nothing to loose to try none as they are wearing out anyway?

Triflo ate mine up. I replaced and used WD-40 for two flights and now I've had about 50 flights with little wear. I bought three more sets of both gears and plan or replacing them as soon as the mesh seems to get loose. A steel one would be much better.

I hope there's an update comming soon. I don't like the idea changing pinion after every 40 flights or so. I know it's just 10 bucks but...
40 flights = 11 days!!! |

Mine lasted 100 flights, not terrible but yeah I would rather not replace it. But it's better to replace a 10$ pulley than the 35$ main gear
I read something about SAB comming with a steel pulley?

I have a very good information. One company is preparing steel pinion! It will be ready next week. I'll let you all know...
Who would like to have one? How many I should tell them to make? |
