My tail blades are spinning up with the stick all the way in the low position. It starts spinning as soon as I take-off TH. Any ideas?

What is your throttle trim set at? Lower it until the tail stops spinning.

Trim is at zero. This has just started happening within the last few days. Have been flying the heli since December. Wanted to make sure it wasn't a precursor to some electrical issue.
I will try lowering my throttle trim. Thanks. |

Mines been doin that... Most the time my dx6 is actually up 1-2 little notches. And im pretty sure the main motor is goin out. Its real notchy feeling while turning by hand. So the main blades on mine atleast should be spinning but isnt...

Does it run full speed and the rudder stick doesn't control it?

NCcraig - it seems to be running full speed and not exactly sure what you mean with the rudder stick, but if I'm interpreting correctly, yes it's controllable with the rudder stick. It flies alright, although some maintenance needs to be accomplished. Some tail wag and my piro rate has slowed along with - at the end of a piro the tail kicks another 1/4 turn after stick is centered.

With the Throttle / collective stick all the way down neither the main or tail motor should be running. As others posted check you trims, some transmitters such as DX7 have collective and throttle Trims which can be moved by accident. They show up in the normal main screen but not in the Servo Monitor Screen.
As the Lipoy gets weaker so does the tail and main motors , nothing uniusual here. Most try to fly these helis longer than recomended by Blade. Manual states set timer for 4 minutes of easy flying and 3 minutes of agressive flying. LiPolys should never be flown until you notice the power dropping unless you enjoy purchasing Lipolys often. |

If it did it when you plugged the battery in and you had no control over it with the rudder stick, you would have a burnt tail FET. You may still though.

The main motor is notchy, naturally. It's magnets, being heavier duty, say than the mSR X motor magnets, make it click when you turn the pinion.New one's come like that. The tail motor spins up before the main motor because that is a much lighter motor to get started. The main motor takes a little bit more to get started. This is normal. |

It does spin up when I plug the battery in, unless I have TH on. That was my initial concern - the FET. However, I do still have tail control. I'm not that familiar with FETs, is it the type of component that either is burnt (not working) or working, or is there a gray area as it deteriorates over time.
I have tested it with brand new lipos and I never fly them over 4 minutes - because most of the time I crash and burn before 4 minutes is up Thanks for the input!! |

You are using what Transmitter ? Have you complete a recomended initial setup as per the owner's manual? Have you checked you trims to insure they have not been moved?. HAve you checked your Throttle curve settings? |

I just bench tested and moved throttle trim down and spinning stopped. Hopefully problem solved. The bird is in pieces at the moment for some maintenance and in need of new main shaft and some swashplate work. I will have to flight test later I the week. Thanks for all the input. |

It should, but you can set it to do something different in the throttle curve menu. You might want to take a look and make sure that it's set to 0 for all stick positions there.

I solved the tail spinning at low throttle by lowering the trim. I also cleaned all the servos, replaced main shaft, did the tail boom extension mod, tried 2 different tail motors, and I'm still having the issue when doing clockwise piros and when I stop the tail it continues to kick another 1/4 turn.
