Default Batteries!!

I have 3 different brand of batteries(flight power 50c-100c 5200,voltz 45c-95 5100 and zippy flightmax 25c 5000) they all are 6s batteries, i have had the voltz batteries since jan and within like 2 mth they were puff all of them(5) and the performance had drop really bad, the zippy batteries(2) i had from about april and they have no sighs of puff and the performance is the exact same like from brand new and then there is the fligh power batteries(4) witch is only 2 mth old and they are really puff already and performance has drop. Now i know what ur going to asked!! yes i have break them in all of them the exact same 10 flights using about 40% of the battery and only charge at 2c at room temp, all the batteries were treated the same never over discharge and always about 30-40% left back in the battery after use. My flying style is not 3d so its not like the batteries has had a hard life or anything so i really dont know why they are puff and so soon when the cheaper brand(zippy) is still like new. The voltz and the flight power batteries are really expensive and i could get 2 zippy batteries for the price of a voltz and flight power. I know the zippy battery is not as punchy as the others because if the c rating but like i said i dont fly 3d so i never notice any difference in any of the batteries, so i guess expensive is not always the best choice or maybe expensive batteries are not what they say they are.

Yep, same here. Just selling off two electrics & replaced them with a 600NP. Store fully charged, charge takes a couple of minutes & pop increases with flight time, which is longer also. Looks like it will be cheaper in the long run for me. Keeping the 600E as I have some Nanotechs to use up.

A buddy of mine had the same experience with Voltz packs. He showed me a set of Turnigy packs side-by-side with a set of Voltz packs for his 700E and there was a night and day difference. The Voltz packs, with fewer cycles on them than the Turnigys, were badly puffed, almost cylindrical. The Turnigys looked brand new.

My philosophy is: if the cheap packs last half as long as the expensive packs, I'm still ahead because the expensive packs are often more than twice the price. So, I buy the cheap ones. The Sky Lipos and Gens Ace lipos sold by Hobbypartz are inexpensive and generally well regarded. Better yet for folks in the US: they're a domestic company, so there's no dealing with international shipping.

I've tried many brands... and still feel Gens Ace have been best.

I've had great result with Zippies so far. I'm trying the Gens. They're pretty good so far but not better than the Zippies.

I think Flightmax upped their game with their newer packs. Gonna stick with them.

BTW.. speaking of batteries... for those who are curious about XPS 65C/8C packs... mine are dying now at around 80 cycles. So those are out for me now in the future.
