Default Poll - FBL controller and Gov - Nitro/Gas

Curious to know people's feedback on which FBL systems and governors y'all have flown or had success with on your Nitro or Gas Whiplash.

Cheers

- Josh

Default Fbl/gov systems

Many of the team pilots are running the VBAR unit for both. I am currently running a beastx with a MultigovPro governor on my nitro with no problems. If you have any questions or concerns just let us know.

Young Jedi MitchPricer will also be gaining some Vbar experience in the not so distant future.... (but his Beastx heli's are awesome...)

The Align sensor works if you reverse the red and black wires.

I'm currently running the BeastX and Futaba GY701/stator gator on my Whippy-G and I'm pleased with the performance thus far, but I'm going to be testing out the HeliCommand FBL system soon to see how it works out. We'll see how it goes...

Cheers,
-->J

Just grabbed a HC3sx also. Installed just need to get time to fly it, adjust it. And fly some more!

Went into a hover last night and it was the smoothest wobble free hover my model has ever known. That was on factory default settings. Had a tail drift but it was due to an error on my part.

Looking forward to dialing in the gains for Max performance and then cranking it up a notch!!

Josh,

Glad to hear it, man. Your review of it is already getting me excited about giving it a try! Any recommendations for mounting tape?

Cheers,
-->J

It's not a whiplash but I'm running a Brain with spectrum backplate sensor on my Knight3D. Works like a charm.

I used the thick tape that came with it. I also have a roll of Scotch/3M 411 tape which is what many others have had success with on the HC3sx; but I haven't use it yet (the 3M 411) as the stock tape has been great for me so far. Again, just one flight so far (bad weather ).

If you have any questions with the setup don't hesitate to PM me. Also the Helicommand threads here and elsewhere pretty much cover everything. The software takes a bit of getting used to but I'm telling you the truth- once you figure it out, it only takes about 10 minutes to setup a new model to the point that you'll have a very smooth hover and ready to adjust the gains for max performance.

Good setup link here as well - http://myyosemite.com/sites/default/...guide%20v2.pdf

That is written by Danny (F1 Rocket) who is also a great source of knowledge on the forums.

Software here if you want to see what it looks like - http://www.helicommand.com/index.php...id=106&lang=en

I am VERY impressed so far (if that isn't obvious enough).

- Josh

Josh,

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep you posted on how things go...I'll be wringing out the HC on the Gasser and the Electric Whippies over the next month or so. In the meantime, Nick (nwmtech) will be doing the same with the SK540 and we'll be following it all up with a big review on the RC Heli Nation podcast and website, so stay tuned!

Cheers,
-->Justin
