The bus (communication wire) is held high by pull up resistors on either end. This ensures that it is held at a known state when nobody is using it and when things aren't connected to each other. When either side wants to "talk" it enables its output buffer and takes control of the bus. In our case the Vortex will only reply when asked so there is no chance of bus collisions (two sides trying to "talk" at the same time). But if you are building a multi-drop system where a number of uC can initiate communication you will need to build an additional software layer for collision avoidance, detection and retransmission.

Ok, I'm officially a spartan! Do I have to wear a loin cloth now?

The vx1e is comparable to a skookum 540 firmware 4.0 on my 250 pro dfc! But I can access the controller via the data pod with full setup capability!!

Glad I got one!

Yes you can do all setting up and tuning from the DataPod.

Well the cape and their armor has kinda a lion cloth skirt look to it. Either way yes you do have to wear it at the funflys or your spartan will Be taken from you.

I still havent logged my maiden flight with the VX1e yet. Had a good spurt of rain since Saturday here. Its west Texas, I moved here to avoid the rain...

I didnt see a setting but I have a 560hz tail servo. How do I set that in the gyro?

You just set it as digital. And then set the center pulse. 1520μs 960μs 760μs.

Spartan vortex vx1e owner here.

Ill tell you the quark was the end all be all gyros for my tree 450 pro when it was a flybar heli. Even As a 450 pro dfc the Spartan vortex is its end all be all.

I will admit setup was a bit more then i expected. Bert however did a great job with his videos so all was explained well.

After i installed it and adjusted 2 settings, d elevator gain and tail gain, the heli flew flawlessly. Rock solid stable at all times and more then i expected. Even in backwards Hurricanes. Tail couldn't hold before but now its solid. As you can tell it breathed new life into this align bird as its now easier to fly and does not car quirks.

This fbl system has left an outstanding impression, Im a very happy customer and i want to thank Angelos, Bert, bob o and anyone else that helped perfect this unit.

Keep up the good work.

Sounds great, Boinker.....the tail gyro part of the Vortex is basically a Quark gyro, so I'm not surprised to hear how well it works for you.

I got 11 flights over the last 3 days.......did an auto from way up (heli was nearly a speck in the sky) on my last pack today....lots of fun.

So I was about to do a maiden today and my battery had a cold solder that separated when I did a run up for gov store. Well it must have flickered the power just right because it totally reset the gyro and I had to go through all the settings again.

Maiden VX1e flight postponed until tomorrow.

I have only had two flight events to date with my new spartan. Was psyched to get a chance to fly today and woke up to wind and rain in Maine. The cold weather is expected tomorrow so I suppose today has no hope later.
