Default ROTR Rotors Over The Red June 23-24

It's that time again! June 23-24 (weekend after fathers day)

I wanted to let you know that you are here by invited to come out to this years Rotors Over The Red..... hosted at the SHARKS FIELD... just outside of Shreveport Louisiana...

Landing fee is $15, we have limited RV electric hook-ups @ $10 we had 20+ registered pilot's in 2011, had donations from the following:

John Beech with Audacity Models (heli blades and extras)
Ron Lund with Heli-Proz South ( Auto Rotation Contest prize)
KBDD support team with KBDD International (tail blades, dampers, and paddles from 250's - 700's)
Hobbies Xtream Bossier City Louisiana & Trends-N-Trains Shreveport, Louisiana - Glow plugs and other Heli Accesories

And Numerous generous private individuals who donated Heli accessories.... i think everyone had a blast despite the heat...

please come out and buy a burger... i think everyone that was there last year would agree that the smoked burger cant be beat....

*** We now have a huge pond next to our runway ***

Basically if this kills the fun and the event then i will have to hang the "Hat" on hosting the event... Texarkanas and Monroe's events last year were a huge hit and i don't think i could touch that quality of event...

There will be no harsh feelings if this is the final Rodeo... it's been fun and i have got the oppertunity to make a lot of new friends.....

~Mathew

A pond next to the runway killing an event? Hogwash! A pond next to the runway should be a drawing card!

Too long of a trip for me to make, but you guys need to make good use of that pond! In Birmingham, they "Dew the Ditch"... you guys need to "Pounce on the Pond" or something! I'm sure your event will be great and I look forward to reading about the highlights and seeing some pics posted toward the end of June!

Glad to see you're having this event again. Sorry that I didn't make it last year but I should be there this year!

we have Morgan Fuels and Cool Power as a Sponsor this event this year so far, I have been working hard looking for more sponsors and if they all come through it could be a great event. I know that I will be there as well.

::bump:: well it's getting closer! I'll have to narrow my focus a bit more on the event.. Trying to start college and life in general have side tracked me a bit...
I just want everyone to come and have a great time....

well im getting all the particulars finished out... and will be presenting the final updates to the club board in a week so im going to be busy playing tag to make this happen... nobody has said anything about night flying etc... So im going to keep it as simple as possible... come out and fly it like you stole it or sweat to death... (legal disclaimer please don't come out and die really un-cool lol)

Well I have tried to get a set of light towers so anyone could fly at night but the for what we make on the event I'd go in the hole... Now anyone can fly if they have lights rigged up ( my 450 light rig was a blast till I lost the blades lights in flight)

See if one of the rental places would donate them to the event or if any club members know someone with a set. We got one set donated.
