I actually modified my case so the 3 wires come out of it and I can keep the case intact for travel/storage.

That is great idea. I am going to try a popo plug on the tool stick case.

Just like I did mine
And I use micro jst connectors on the ESC and on the Toolstick. Easy to hook up for reprogramming: http://www.rc-connectors.com/index.p...u7t3ipdr0bt350 http://www.rc-connectors.com/index.p...u7t3ipdr0bt350 |

I plan to use the "reverse programming" cables that came with my 2.3g servos for connections. They are basically servo extension cables (with +ve and signal wires crossed) with the same JST plug.

Just a note on using a connector on the ESC. Be sure to use very soft/thin wires going to the two small pads on the PCB. Otherwise you will easily tear them off. Then you can use a thick and shorter wire for the ground connection (black wire) for strain relief.

They do have cheaper options, that they present just before order confirmation... you have to go to checkout to see all your shipping options... or even faster/more expensive overnight if you so desire...

Guys. I really am looking forward to doing this but I have a question that I hope you can enlighten me a little. So flashing my esc will allow me to keep my headspeed constant during flight and I understand this concept with my CC 50 on my 450 but what I don't get is, you don't need a converter and basically you power your esc with your battery and this also supply power to your 3in1 but how do you put your heli into throttle hold? Perhaps I'm missing something

You want your esc to receive power directly from your battery leads. Then, you run leads from your esc's power pads to the front of your 3-1. Throttle Hold functionality doesn't change at all. In fact, it's use is an important step for telling the esc what RPM to govern at. For complete information on how to setup the esc with your transmitter, see this. |

super!! Thanks guys so much for helping me understand this . I got it now .
So basically I will need to solder the signal wire from the esc (in my case with xp-7a) to the little resistor on the back where the yellow wire from thesteve would go. Correct? |
