Now that I pay attention most pictures show the double boom supports, only Peter Lustich's has only one. On his group picture there's a mix. On Minicopter's site it's single strut.

Supports are always mounted as pair.

First attempts, let me say as "worst case", were made without any support. The tail was then nervous on yaw axis. Then we added the supports mounted at the front just under the boom. The flight items were much better, but during the preparation on last IRCHA in Pennsylvania we found on hard 3D manoverous some unusual vibrations. Finally we moved the front mount position to the lower position with best results.

So you can use the upper mount for quite normal flight but on hard 3D flight there are limits.

I was waiting on your input Gerd. Thanks!!!

So how does the Banshee get away with no supports with the same boom size?

I placed the double boom support only on the top, like gerd say. I dont fly such extreme hard manövers like miles dunkel at the IRCHA and i don't have any vibrations. I fly between 1500-1750-2000 rpm for 3D and 2300 rpm for speed flights and it works well. V-Stabi says there are no vibrations and so i let the boom support on the upper way. My tail sensitivity at vstabi are between 128 and 110 and my tal works fine. I think its like gerd say, you can test it and when the upper way works great you can use it for your flight style.

About to test the new custom motor mount with heat tray. There was much discussion as to wether it would be beneficial to motor temps or not. I figured i just has to try or myself. And it's my first diabolo bling ;-)

Well just got back from 4 8 minute flights. First I flew with canopy. The motor always gets hot. Even so now however as the fins reach the same temperature, the entire thing cools much quicker.
Next I flew without canopy. The motor usually still got hot. Not so now with the added surface area of the fins.

I reckon there is a benefit even if not massive. I will try constructing a vent in the canopy to see how that works.
