Nice video,
nervous flight, but over time I am sure the pilot will gain confidence especially when turning downwind and forgetting to add power so it drops out of the sky..(VR). he did well to recover.

I remember making the same mistake, scary , but in the end you just go with it..

Have never heard of that turbine manufacturer, might see something out at Rotor World in Germany in March..

thanks for vid

KingTech is Made in Taiwan. Personally, I know the owner of this company.
Regarding this brand, aero engines are great, turbo prop engines were successfully test flown 1-2 years ago.

For heli, 2 stage gear box is still in R&D progress......... Even one of my best friends is on the R&D team.
If KingTech successfully produced a 2 stage heli engine, I would be the very first guy to have it. Because, I have registered myself on the waiting list........ Hahaha........

Most important, I am also very interested in your post. Hope to get some more details.

i.e., whether this heli is turbo shaft or not..... is it possible that this pilot just simply installs KingTech into any heli mechanics on the market........

Dear Matt. Kingtech is kicking jetcat @ss at the jet scenario in USA, because of it's excelent customer support (while jetcat sucks in this) and because now it's a reliable turbine. So it will be a good alternative in helicopters also.

Dear Kevin

I was wondering if you know the Vario guys from Thailand So you could get some information fof us may be?

So it's one stage, Pop Vario Thailand just shared this pic on facebook:

The helicopter is electric powered with a turbine on the back for sound effects I guess. If you look closely you can see the batteries in the basket and there is no drive system off the front of the turbine. Nothing beats Austrian and German turbines that actually power a large helicopter!!

That's a guess but who knows, anything is possible Actually I don't see anything on the turbine that would drive the main rotor, so that's actually possible.

Dear Calil:

Regarding CRM, I heard that Jetcat is dealer-oriented, not customer-oriented.
Generally speaking, Jetcat Germany does not directly get in touch with customers.
I sent my PHT-3 to Jetcat Germany via Andreas Kraft Modellsport. Andi is a very nice person who gives me a lot of prompt great helps.

On the other hand, Wren USA, Mr. Ron Ballard is also a very nice person who offers excellent service quality with "empathy" to customers!!!

Wren UK had some problems for service quality in the previous few months. I received and accepted apologies from Leonie. Most important, I just would like to have my engine back asap.

I don't know the Thailand R/C pilot.......

In Taiwan, there are less than 50 jet plane pilots.
However, there are only 4 pilots who owns only 7 turbine heli/s.
Due to this small number, we almost know each other/one another "directly or indirectly".

Dear Matt:

Gee, you are always the Man!!! You always find the trick. Hahaha.........

& also for Calil: "So it will be a good alternative in helicopters also".

So far, 2 stage turbine for helis is produced only by Wren and Jetcat. If I am wrong, please correct me.

KingTech has been trying to produce this unit.
However, the difficulty is...... blades on the windmill snap/break. This condition is not solved yet.......

A Jetcat turbo prop engine also had this problem once in Taiwan. The engine was covered by warranty.

It is ok, never mind. You don't need to say sorry for anything.

By the way, I just talked to my friend (in this video) in this afternoon.
KingTech K-100 turboprop prototype turns 3-blades 26X20 propeller (5 min 20 sec)

Regarding KingTech, a 2 stage turbo prop is ready to go.
KingTech K-100 turboprop with 26X24 3-blade prop (9 min 24 sec)

But the price is not set yet.......

Mr. Lee, Kai also says~ this K-100 might be too heavy for heli/s. If I would like to use it for heli, the heli needs to be very big for flying.

Another friend of mine, he is also on the R&D team......
KingTech will launch 6kgs and 4.5kgs (smaller engines) in a half year.

Look forward to seeing something like Wren's 90 degree gear box...... I don't know........

the jetcats are ok and are the only other 2 stage, apart from Phal who are very expensive..

I had jetcats and Wrens, obviously the wren is a no goer, so look around your side of the pond for a 2 stage jetcat, they are good, have a governor and are reliable, I had 2 gas ones..

I changed to Wren purely cos they were based in the UK and most of my friends were flying them... and I could build it myself and service it myself ( MW54)

I for one hope king tech will do a 2 stage heli motor with there 45 after I seen how wren does business and the way they treated Ron I'm without a turbine heli until something else comes along to stuff in a 700 nitro heli

KingTech's K-45 Airplane 2-stage turbine is on the test bench now!

Prop of 23*10 at 7600 rpm.

It is not too difficult for me to make a conversion kit with MD-8 heli.

Agree with gary. Need a compact size turbine that can fit into 700 size heli.

Kingtech is taking too long to launch it, they could be selling a lot of 45 heli version unitys.
