Elevator shaft shims 600ESP

Im in the process of putting the elevator control assembly in and the parts bag is inconsistant with the instructions. I've got play in the shaft and four shims in the bag but the shims are not shown in the book. Also the washers on the end bolts are odd sizes. Should I put all the shims on or just enough to take out the play.

The shims do not fit the hex screws, rather they fit around the inner race of the bearing...You know, the piece of the bearing that the hex screw goes through....The shim goes first then the hex washer then the hex screw...If you know what I mean...You might have to move the shim around a bit unitll you get the hex tight, if you know what I mean...
However, you do not want it too tight..You want just a pusshair of endplay....

Thanks mike. it fits snug I've got no end play but it feels ok.
