My tail control rod would buzz like hell with throttle above 94%. The vibe even cracked the tail bell crank.

How do I know if I can go ahead and fly my OXY 3 or if I'm one of the folks (I pre-ordered) whose very early kit has problematic tail blades??? I'm tired of just looking at it sit on my desk.

OTOH, I don't want to stuff it in since evidently there is a real shortage of repair/replacement parts in the USA. My dealer's inventory (Tmkarc Hobby) says "Out of Stock" on virtually everything OXY 3 related!

If I haven't received an e-mail is that GOOD and I can go fly, or not??? And yes, I registered pretty much the same day the kit arrived. While appreciated, this advisory warning thread has me totally spooked I might wreck my OXY or hurt myself or my property, especially after reading some of the horror stories that folks have alleged resulted from bad tail blades.

If you want to fly. You can put the 50's on and run 3500 or below.

The 47's below 4000 closer to 3500 the micro off balance does not create a vib issue. It's just the small off balance creates a vib issue at the high head speeds. Just think about how fast the tail is going and any small/micro off balance will create a vib.

You will have to reset your setting when you get the good blades but if you want to fly it. Low head speed is a option.

With the heli fully built and no mains spool it up. Watch for any vibes in the tail fin. If you have a bad one you will hear a nasty buzz sound and the tail fun will blur out. If you have a good one it will fully pass this test all the way up to 4000+ rpms on the bench.

You can dynamic balance this out no problem just like everyone did on their 130x's if you want to fly.

There is a few flying them YES. BUT you will need the shims for them.
**NOTE** Do not over tighten them or you risk throwing a blade.

I just heard of people running them with no issues. "Safe" I can not comment on that. I just know some people are running them until they get new OXY 47mm's and to have colored tails.

Luca is still on a business trip and things are being finalized on the recall process. Things should be starting pretty soon.

I'm currently flying the LYNX 47mm... These were the blades that OXY sent me as a temporary fix. Reference my post above with "oxy care package" you will see the lynx tail blades there. It comes with shims and iv'e been flying it for two weeks now with no vibe issues.

My apologies for being repetitive, but I also pre-ordered my Oxy 3 very early on and registered, but have not heard from the Oxy team regarding replacement blades / "care package".

I'm not in a big hurry as I am closing on a new house within the next 30-45 days and am waiting for my heli mancave to build the Oxy

I would guess that Oxy has sold a lot of kits, and emailing every individual takes a lot of time. If you're going to keep them up to date that would take even more time.

My guess is that the parts have been sent out/will be sent out this week. Emailing everyone an individual track and trace number will be taking too much time.

Impossible as some ppl didn't buy their machines through Oxy heli or Lynx thus Oxy/Lynx has no way to ship the material as no shipping addresses !...
Just this email is long to come when you have a new toy and want to fly it like it was advertised.
I'm sure once everybody will have received the parts it will be a very nice machine to toss around, for the moment, it's a good shelf decoration
