Default Progression crash

Was having a ball flying the helis this weekend. Started out with the DT520 and within the first two minutes of the flight I found myself instinctively going for a piro funnel. Started the funnel inverted, tail down and just started to piro through 2 complete funnels!

Can you say adrenalin rush? Sure, I knew you could.

So, I proceed to fly the Oxy3 Stretch and the Protos Max V2. No funnels on the Oxy. That little sucker, while smooth and precise, is so fast and even faster to get small when it goes away from you that I just didn't feel comfortable going for even a basic funnel let alone a piro. It came home in one piece.

First flight and second flights with the Protos Max V2 I went for the piro funnels again. Awesome. The sim time is really starting to pay off. The Protos also came home in one piece.

I think you can see where this is going...

2 flight packs remaining for the DT520E. I take off and about half way through the flight, I decide to go for some more piro funnels. It was going great until about the 9:00 position of a CCW funnel when the tail blew out and it started to piro uncontrollably. I could not get it to stop so I hit TH and it fell to the ground from about 15-20 feet.

No photos but the carnage consists of the canopy, the right front lower frame (of course!) the boom, tail control rod, one pitch link, the landing skids, the main blades and one tail blade. The tail assembly and head, gears, belt etc, all survived.

I have most of the parts in stock so it will be flying again soon.

About that lower right front frame. It has cracked, every time I have crashed this hell. I already have 2 spare left frames and I don't need another one. lol

Time to upgrade to the new battery tray lock I guess!

Sorry to hear that, Mark. I hope you get it fixed and in the air, soon. It's great progress you're making, though.

Mark and I simmed together over this winter and I saw the piro funnels in the sim at that time. All that sim time that he puts in has paid off. His flying is light years ahead of when I first met him at the Mid America fun fly about a year ago.

Dedication does pay off. Great work Mark. Can't wait to see you fly IRL this summer.

Hey thanks Jason! You too Scott. I've been super busy with work so I haven't had time to get a parts list together.
