Default Schluter Helibaby, Miniboy and Heliboy

Back in the 80s I picked up a Helibaby, a Miniboy and half a Heliboy.
The Helibaby has been flown 30 yrs ago albeit with miniboy cockpit etc.
The MB is missing the fan/flywheel. The Heliboy is just the frames and mechanics, no cockpit or tailboom etc.
All three of these have been stripped down and cleaned. I would like to either get the Helibaby or the Miniboy back in the air, hower each has missing parts.
1, Helibaby missing cockpit and Cockpit structure.
2, Miniboy missing Fan etc.
3 Helibaby bits to sell to fund buying the missing bits.

4, I would like to run one or both of these as FBL, Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Cheers
RH

There might be some sources for parts for the Heli-Boy but I don't know of any personally. The Heli-Baby can be almost fully rebuilt with parts available from Minicopter in Germany. Gerd, the owner, has reproduced the parts and has made them available on the Minicopter website. Hope you find the parts you're looking for.

Default Helibaby

I decided due to space that I would keep only the Helibaby using some Miniboy parts temporarily to enable it to fly.
The tailboom was a bit messed up, see pic, up at the main rotor end so I decided to change it. I heated the tailboom assy to loosen the epoxy and pulled it apart. Refitted the new tube and epoxied it. Using a stand drill and dremel, I made the openings for the rotor bearings in the tube and refitted everything.
The only problems appear to be the floppy mounts of the tail and elevator fins. I guess I need something under the mounts to enable them to be tightened.
I have an old OS MAX 50FSR-H and a brand new OS MAX 50FSR-H bought mail order from a UK shop in 1986. This motor was actually from 1978 ie it is a non ringed motor........It was one of the Major UK model shops in 1986, I guess they didn't care much about foreign customers.. The Compression really is crap and seems worse than its used brother.
This may just be that I have been playing with using Petrol with only 5% oil. I will try running it for a few litres on nomal glow fuel and see if it gets better.
More pics to follow as work progresses.

Rebuilt the tail boom and bought the new parts to hold the boom from Minicopter. Delivery took one week. Mailing cost 15 Euros, In reality it was priority mail 3,50 Euros according to the stamps in a Jiffy bag, hardly justified the 15 Euros for the postage, A ripoff by any mans standards!!!!
Quoted postage on the site- 5Euros for Germany and 15 Euros for Europe..............
I expected 48Hr service or better as from the UK with many items for the same price..... Not one week, sent Tuesday, received the following Tuesday after 7 days !!!!!!! Heli Robbery!!!

I guess I owe an apology to those that sold me the motor. I was NOT from 1978, as it has a piston ring so it was a current model. I will now treat it kindly and run it in with glow fuel before getting a CDI set up. All of the motors I have run so far on Petrol even with the crap 20/50 oil I used have been much cleaner on the bench than with the glow fuel. I think the smell is not so good but maybe with Castrol R it will get me going again.

Just love to see the old stuff flying. I'd love to pick up some more antique FB helis besides my Shuttle others no longer want that are all in one piece. Although this one spoiled me being mint and dirt cheap.

I know what you mean.
I bought a BNF Xcell 60 for $150.
It's still a kick ass flyer.
