Default 600L Lipo C Rating

Geez wish the supply of lipos would improve. Here in australia have a lot of trouble getting any good packs. Im trying to avoid Hobbyking Turnigy (but even the A spec Turnigies are out of stock ). Was going to get some nano's as these are a second pack set.

Anyway ive been fortunate to fly 3300 6s (12S) 60C packs for the last 12 months and need to get a second set of packs http://www.zenrc.com.au/product/zen-...mah-22-2v-60c/

Finally found some local stock of Gens Ace 45C 3300 packs and a bit worried the 45C might leave me feeling a little wanting compared with my current 60C packs which are still going strong.

Im flying 2450 headspeed on the 600L and battery comes down warm to mild hot at 3.7v at around 4min flights at moment (medium to hard 3d).

Will i be okay with the gens ace 45C or do i need to get the 60C version (which are out of stock ).

It's a fools game trying to compare one manufacturer's C rating with that of another manufacturer. There is no standard way to define c rating so manufacturers pretty much make numbers up, especially so at the higher end of the range.
A gens Ace 45c will be fine.

Have used both 35C and 45C Gens Ace packs and can confidently say you won't be disappointed by the 45C packs. I can go as far as say that the 45C Gens pack will outpower your 60C pack of the other brand . C Rating is a gamble and since there is no standard on the market for it, manufacturers use it to mislead their customers. 60C is definitely not needed even for very hard 3D flying IMO.

I recently purchased Giant Power 5100mAh for my 6S 600 rated @ 65-130C after having had disappoint after disappointment with both Flightmax Zippy 45C and the Turnigy & Nano's. They all puffed out after very few flights and landed hot.

This recent purchase really does what it says on the tin, they hardly get warm on a 6 minute excursion. They are priced inc shipping just slightly more than a HK packs inc shipping and are available locally (UK). They are slightly longer than their HK counterparts but were a good fit to my Trex600 nitro electric conversion.

Not sure whether they are available in OZ though.

Which dealer did you buy them from?

Supply of large batteries is getting to be a problem everywhere. For example Hobbyking in the UK or Europe don't have a single 6S 5000mAh in stock of any type and haven't for several weeks.

Someone who knows one of the manages at HK in the UK talked to him about it. He said that it's due to shipping restriction on LiPos above 105Wh rating.
He went on to explain that HK are in the process of coming up with a 'split pack' solution (which is basically two 3S 5000mAh LiPos that will couple together to make a 6S). This gets around the shipping problem but might be a right pain, depending on how HK implement the split (will they charge as 6S or 3S?)

Anyway, until they come up with this new split pack range of batteries they don't expect to get any new stock of larger size batteries.

This should only effect 6S 5000mAh and higher. Smaller sizes should be ok.
