Default Piro Speed too slow

This probably quick fix. Tried yesterday to spin Heli to left for full 360 degree turn and got no more than 1/3 around. Would not go full 360. 450 SE V2 with Spektrum DX6. How do I adjust PIRO speed? Thanks!

Make sure you have the tail slider able to move to the limits. Not sure how that is done with the GY401. You can check it in either rate or HH mode.

If that is ok, then take off the link at the tail servo and make sure you can move the pitch easily.

If that is ok, then take off the main blades, anchor down the skids, then spool up the heli to a moderate speed in normal mode. Can you still move the tail control rod by hand and is it still a reasonable amount of force?

On this last check, be careful. A friend was trying this at home on Thursday evening. He moved the collective to high, and one of the tail blades broke off! It penetrated few inches of balsa sheets, exited off to the side and still managed to fly across the room. We figure that one contributing causes was that without the mains on, the motor rpm got a lot higher. So don't stand in the direct path of the tail blades! Not a bad idea to wear safety glasses. I've done this check myself many times, but this incident woke me up a bit!

In is case it appears the problem is the range set in the gyro, but he also had a really stiff static setup, and we're not sure about the dynamic case due to the abort of that test when the blade departed. In any case his tail has many issues!
