Default What servo's you using?

Whilst changing out a receiver last night I somehow managed to kill all my servo's, rx switch, governor, and vbar I am now in need of some new servo's. I originally was running Futaba BLS351's in it on a 2s Life pack.

With the BLS351 a little harder to get I thought I might try something else. I have a set of RJX HV servos and Outrage 9188 tail servo brand new in packets and would just need a throttle servo. Anyone using these? Do they fit without needing mods or anything?

I am torn on wether to use them or to buy some HV Futaba servo's as the Futaba servo's I had in it just worked so well but a lot ,pre expensive than other choices these days.

Any help appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your electrical issues I hope you figured out what caused the voltage spike!

I run a set of RJX on my TT N5c, fit is perfect! No shims needed. The 9188 tail fits no problem as well.

The RJX are becoming my go to servos. I too love my BLS Futabas but if they ever took a dump I wouldn't replace them. Just too expensive and so many good alternatives on the market right now.

The only caveat with the RJX; they have a nasty amp spike on power on that is rough on BECs. About 1 time in 5 one of the servos would fail to initialize on power up. I have tried several brands of BECs, some better than others but all failed to power up at least one servo every so often. Not a big deal, power cycle and move on. Once the servos are powered up and ready their power consumption is very nice. I run a 2s 2550 RX lipo on my N5c and i can easily get 6-8 6 minute flights on my N5c with RJX between charges.

I have never had a single power up issue with Straight RX packs. I have RJX servos on 2 birds currently and set sitting here waiting for my N7.

Thanks Chris that is exactly the reply I was wanting to hear.

I will use the RJX servos for cyclic, 9188 for the tail and I have ordered a mini RJX HV servo for the throttle. It may need some work to may it fit but that's not too much.

I plan on running them straight off 2s lipo through a bullet proof soft switch that a friend of mine designed and makes. I want a simple solution with the least amount of parts as possible.

Good news the vbar managed to survive so all that I ended up needing was the throttle servo.

Got all the servo's fitted up nicely. Feel smooth, strong, quick and quiet on the bench. Will test next weekend.
