Default Stock Blade 400 do's and don't do's

Seems like everyone had upgraded their blade 400. Mine is bone stock. After countless hours on the simulator and a few hours hovering I think I am ready to try some forward flight . If I feel comfortable I know I will get some altitude and try something cocky like stationary rolls or flips.

What can I or can't I do with a stock B400???

Get a BEC if your going to be using the stock ESC.. I got the hobbywing from helidirect for 12 bucks.. the castle CC BEC is alot nicer but its 25 at most places (programmable too). Also check over the stock head closely. I had to move a link here and there to get it setup but otherwise not too bad as others have had it. Watch your stock servos closely, after only a few hover flights im having some serious issues with my stock elevator servo. With stock tail servo you might have to mess with gain on the gyro as well as go one-two notches in on the servo arm to get more precision.

I took my blade pretty far and for a long time before I made any upgrades, but beware, the everpresent concensus of crap servos, esc, etc, are not too farfetched, they are liable to give out. but overall, do what you what you want with it, and it'll follow really well

Stock 400 is good for a beginner, forward flight, a few light flips, then out have out grown it.

If you upgrade too much then you've could have bought yourself a much better heli so why upgrade?

I spoke with a sponsored pilot and he said "Oh! yea 3D right out of the box" then I spoke with him a little more and he admitted that you need to at least upgrade all the servos and gryo.

Stock B400 is no where near capable of HARD 3D. When I did tick tocs with a stock B400 the tail was all over the place, just a mess.

Sure you might be able to beat a porche with a honda but that guy better really suck at driving a porche.

Just one guys opinion.

I bought the HXT900, the GWS Park HPX Servo for the tail, and the HXT_UBEC/3735 HXT UBEC 5/6v output for the HXT900 servos(because I read they use a LOT of juice)

Plus new Zippy-H 2200ma Lipos $$$$$ all well spent

I will fly it stock until it get too cold here to fly then I'll upgrade it with the servos and new BEC.

the 400 is a perfect learner and is capable of hard 3d but requires $$$$$$ and practice.
and as said before with all the $$$$$ you could have bought you a more geared model.

the 400 is well worth the money and the smiles

as for the dooo's and donts

do smile while you fly, do overcome fear, do expand your own thoughts and intentions this is your hobby

dont fly when the weather looks questionable, dont rush, and most of all DONT GIVE UP this is a brain busting hobby but it only gets eaiser and with time the self gradification will pay off 10 folds
