550's on shorter boom?

can 550's be used on the shorter boom?

I think so, I compared the shorter boom to the longer one and there is only about an inch or so difference, what's funny is that the CF boom is about 3/4 inch longer than the metal edition boom. But putting 550's on a shorter boom heli, warrants that you might need larger tail blades for better tail control.
