Default Raptor 60 or 90?

Gday guys i am new to raptors! I am thinking of buying a raptor but cant tell the difference between the 60 and the 90 size. Is there anything that identifies a 60 from a 90 standard editions. What are the boom sizes for both? I have also heard about the little tail pins that come out, is there a fix for this? How can i make it foolproof? Are there any other things to look out for on these birds? Thanks guys

most parts for the 60..fit the 90..it sounds like its the motor thats the bigger item. the parts I had to order for mine, all had 60-90 raptor on the tags, ..hope this helps

fool proof is not a fix for good maintenance..a quick check before your flights will help prevent unexpected issues..but failures will happen..

60 and 90 are the same with the exception of the boom/blades/engine, the boom on the 90 is longer (longer drive shaft too) to accomodate the longer blades (710 for the 90, 680 for the 60). I have a 60 with a 90 in it (re geared for the 90). the tail pins can be retained faithfully by putting a short length of shrink tubing over it and shrinking it down, I'd caution about using brass tubing to capture the pin as the brass can slide off and start cutting parts.

xbrut... I got the raptor 60 & used a 0S 60 then a 70 in it... Lacked power for aerobatics (if you are sure your ging to be doing only very mild stuff go ahead with the r60) ended up buying the conversion kit & made it into a R90.
Flies rather well on a OS90 engine & 690 blades on 15% heli fuel

I would recommend at the least, go straight with a R90 kit. as you can easily use the OS 70 in it.. or OS 90 or YS 90
