1. you can, but the receiver tray is too flexible for a gyro. try RDLohr’s lexan tray ($16) or this aluminum tray ($23 + Bling).
2. on the bottom side of your lipo tray.
3. its not a must, but its a good mod.
4. for me: TC 0-75-100 (normal mode) and 100-90-100 (Idle1 and idle2)
PC 0-50-100 (i use the same for all modes)
but you may also use PC 35-50-100 (for normal).

That is 5 points just leave points 2 & 4 at INH and it will auto select the middle of 1 & 3 as point 2 and the middle of 3 & 5 as point 4

Example: 100 INH 50 INH 100 = 100-75-50-75-100 now if you ever change point 3 it will auto change 2 & 4 for you so....

100 INH 80 INH 100 will auto change to equal 100-90-80-90-100 just by changing point 3

1. Yes, this is how I have mine. I agree with lavi though, the stock receiver tray is to flimsy for the gyro. I beefed up the stock tray with a few bits of aircraft plywood.

2. again, I agree with lavi, under the battery tray.

3. I'd say you don't need it with the stock tail. With the metal tail, yes.

4. When i first flew my 500, I was coming over from a little Honeybee FP. I found the 12 tooth pinion on 6 cells, with a normal throttle curve of 0, 55, 85, 93, 100 gave me a nice easy hover. For my normal pitch curve, I used something link 42, 46, 50, 75, 100. The way I arrived at it was to have about -3 degrees of neg. pitch at the bottom. A few other settings for a nice stable bird, for me at least, was 6 degrees of cyclic, 10.5 degrees of collective, and a little exponetial is a good idea on aileron and elevator, at least to start out with. Once you get around to doing flips and rolls, you'll want to increase your cyclic and collective.

Hope this helps.

Al

NORM == 0,85,85,85,85 == -4,0,12
ST1 == 90,90,90 == -6,0,12
ST2 == 100,100,100 == -12,0,12

Use foam tape to mount the ESC right under the battery tray. Be sure no part of it can touch the sides of the frame. Some foam tape on the frame sides where the ESC could *possibly* touch would be a good idea.

Assemble the heli and then take the left side of the frame off. Mount the servos and run/dress all the wires. It makes it a lot easier to have a clean bird that way.

hi
i used thro with 100 100 100,but it was a huge challenge for the battery.The battery can not suffer the amp,so in order to protect your battery,100 90 100 or 100 85 100is ok. I am chinese.
