I hear that the JR Airskipper 90 (gawdawful name) is very successful in the UK for pattern flying. It has the fuel tank in the proper location, with a stacked frame configuration.
Good, luck, |

Probably have to go overseas to the UK or something. I think MacGregor is the Horizon of the UK.

I have a contact in Japan if you need it. Have done business with him for over 10 years, He does not have a website. It is a hobby shop. Service and prices are great.

Sure, Thanks David,
I think I am going to go with the following....(please help with blanks) AS 90 9255's ______ Engine ? GV-1 (is it typical to use a governor or not, I can see both pros and cons) Will use my trusty 9zwcII on 2.4 ______ Blades ? (both main and tail) What gearing? (Is the AS 90 adjustable) 611 Gyro (what servo brushless ?) Anything else I am forgetting?

General Fly Bar / Head question:
Comparing Pattern style to 3D style When setting up your head in hovering head wind, you want the helicopter to basically sit still, i.e. not drift backwards and not fly toward the head wind correct with the swash level correct? Is this true for both 3d setups and pattern ( I have a friend who is interested in this method but flies only 3d)

Here you go. Hiroshi is great to deal with. Now when you ask for a price, ask for the total price shipped. The pricing of items are like this. Price of item, plus 7% tax, plus 5% credit card fee if used, plus shipping. Even with the above, most of the items are still less money. The tax is a something all Japanese shops charge along with the CC fee if using one. Wakaybashi, Hiroshi wk-model@cream.plala.or.jp Not trying to discourage you. But if you get the AS90. Where do you plan to get parts when needed? You going to order them from Japan also? It takes 3-4 days after you order to get stuff from Japan. This is EMS ( Express Mail Service). It is next day delivery once it reaches the USA. Even on Sunday if they deliver on Sundays in your area. Engine YS or OS is the only two choices . I am partial to the OS's Governor, Yes there is contest pilots that are using them. Most the GV1 from last time I checked. Blades is personal preference. I like the Funkey Carbon Tech 720's. These are the Rotor Tech's that Century has. Tail blades, just about any will work. Don't know anything about gearing on the AS90. You will need the ratio in the 7.75 range for contest style flying with the OS or YS. Gyro, 611 with the BLS 251 brushless servo. Batteries, Definitley Lithium Ion or Polymers using a regulator to get it down to 5.6 or 5.3 David |

Very good,
thanks, I am not 100% sold on the AS, but I am fond of JR so what other options do I have other than the Sylphide? OS is my first choice as well. Which One: O.S. 91SZ-H Ringed w/60M-C Carburetor O.S. 91SZ-H PH-Hyper w/Pump & Regulator Also what Pipe for smooth consistent running? Fromeco's for sure

You will have to call James on the phone. I would suggest the Hatori SB18 muffler. David |

Is it typical to use a head speed governor in all modes?
Or just in the Aerobatic sections? Or personal preference. Lastly, I assume it also is typical to us AVCS in all modes? I got the Sylphide in Friday, what a nice kit!

Congrats on receiving the new bird! Welcome to the "club"
There are no videos of AMA Class 2 that I know of. Governor is useful in all flight modes, however I think some guys leave it off for the hovering portion. I'm pretty sure most guys use heading hold in all modes. Some may go to Rate Mode for some aerobatics, but none that I know of. Hope to see you and the new bird at a contest this season! Cheers, |

Servo wise?
Does anyone have any comments about the new Futaba Brushless servos for Cyclic like the BLS351 Brushless Digital High-Torque or possible the others?

I have looked but cannot find the answer....
Paddles... What to use, I understand that you typically want fairly heavy ones and a more rounded leading edge but no one seems to "advertise" FAI style paddles, CY stubbs "look" correct, but again he advertises them as 3d paddles. What are your thoughts? OK, Looks like the FUN Techs are the way to go? Is that still correct, where to get a set to try? OMI?
