Hello all, I just purchased a EXi Squadron 450 ARF heli which is a trex clone. It comes with a metal swashplate and metal head but the blade grips are plastic. I can't seem to find any metal upgrade blade grips unless I buy the whold head which is $80 and I don't want to do that. I plan on adding either a scorpion 2221-8 or -6 motor to the bird. Can I still use the wooden blades or do I need to go with CF blades? Can I do this with plastic grips or do I need metal grips? I don't plan on doing any hard 3D, just aggresive normal flight. Thanks.

With the scorpion 2221-8 and a 11 tooth pinion, wood blades should be OK.
A 2221-6 will require a 45 amp esc for Idle-up mode. |
