Default Out of the box disappointment

Well this is my 2nd heli, just got a HoneyBee RTF at 5pm tonight not even one flight. Pics and vids to show damage. I plug the battery in and set the heli down on the floor and I will let the vid show the glitching issue. Going to call tomorrow see what the place I bought it from has to say. I'm looking at $10 to fix but the electronics look like they are crapped out.

From the video, with the 4-in-1 flashing red and green intermittently - looks just like the problem this other guy is experiencing:

The 4-in-1 is not working, probably?

Check that your receiver crystal matches the transmitter crystal. Plus, EXTEND YOUR TX ANTENNA at least halfway!!!! Sometimes a short antenna can send wierd sgnals. If that doesn't help, then you need a new kit.

Full antenna out radio on for 5-10 seconds then I power up the heli same crap. Well it went back in the box waiting for xheli to get back to me.

Its going back since it should work out of the box its RTF and its $40 for a new 4in1 then $15 for all the head parts I need. I'm close to the original cost and the thing has 0 flight hours on it. I hope my next one will be better since I am pretty sold on this being the next step-up for me.

Darn, I was hoping it was a tx interference issue. Mine made some funky throttle kicks once when I left the antenna down and the TX was across the room. I got my two HB FP's from x-heli too. They haev been pretty quick on the shipping with the orders I have placed. I am sure they will take care of it. Stick with it, that heli seems to be the ticket for learning. Mine is running great once the blade screws are torqued right and the thing is balanced properly. Don't forget to video it when you get it!

Your 4-in-1 is not initializing properly. when I tried to use my Hitec TX with my HB I had a similar problem till I realized my throttle channel was reversed. Is the throttle trim all the way down and try reversing the channel.

It definitely is a No-Binding problem - the transmitter and receiver are not talking to each other. It isn't too difficult to see if the crystal is plugged into the transmitter / radio correctly, but the 4-in-1 crystal could be out of position/ not plugged in and you wouldn't know it. XHeli has the heli cheap, but they have a lousy reputation. Good luck!!:o

Not new to RC's and the 4in1 is not working being crystals or not it should have worked out of the box. I feel that if it can't be fixed for under $10 so shipping is cheaper.

I know that bunching the RX antenna up can cause some glitching, but yours is pretty extreme.

Also realize that rtf really isn't. Everything on a rtf needs to be double checked including the crystals being put in correct the channels on the tx correctly set, as well as going over all screws to make sure they are tight.

Yup, Ready To Fly just means every thing you need is in the box and assembled. If you are lucky the heli will fly straight out of the box but it's always best to check everything first, anything you are not sure about you know where to ask

Its RTF when a company puts "All items are tested 3 times to make sure they are working properly before we ship them to our customers."-Xheli

They seem to be giving me the run around, I give them 48 hours till I call my credit card company let the 30 day wait period start.

Xheli, Raidentech and Nitroplanes are all the same company and have a less than stellar satisfaction record when it comes to repairs.

If they are giving you the run around then why give them a chance,I wouldn't wait on calling your CC company and might also want to contact the Better Business Bureau to file a claim.

Here a 2 year old thread that is still active with unhappy customers. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_57..._1/key_/tm.htm

Unfortunately, i am one of those unhappy customers. Supposedly, xheli is supposed to be improving, but not by my observations. I got screwed about a month ago. They won't get my business again. I hope you ARE able to get this handled, and then you won't ever have to or want to deal with them again!

Ka-Planes or Helidirect!! I have dealt with both a TON and they have been outstanding!

Ka-Planes has the Li-po version too!
