Default Lipo -vs- NiCad/NiMH Batteries

I am considering swapping out the NiCads batteries for Li-po and I know I will need a step-down to regulate the voltage. Q: What is the best setup to prevent destroying the servos? My first thought is to install the step-down pig-tail between the receiver and the battery. Your inputs and thoughts are greatly appreciated Thanks.

A step-down probably wouldn't support high enough current. You'd be much better off with a BEC.

Experience is something you obtain only after you need it.
I wouldn't mind social media so much if it didn't involve people.
